Transform my c450 into a c43 now
Dear Mercedes.
You know I love my c450 and really love you but you can't keep changing your branding this way. If you ready to change the badging on the c450, do not wait until the next model year. Start branding the cars right now as c43 as they come off the line. Then give the choice back to me to either keep my car branded as c450 or let me have the courtesy of changing my badges to at your expense so my car fits with your current branding. There are not that many c450s out there so this is an inexpensive public relations move.
Oh, and if the car is now an amg, bring back the non amg c400 with standard airmatic and all season tires for those that not only want a smooth Mercedes v6 but also want a smooth quiet Mercedes.
Thanks for this nice talk. I hope you were paying attention.

Dear First-e320,
I know your mouth was moving and there were likely words coming from your mouth, but I'm afraid this is what I was doing while you were speaking. Have a nice day and thank you for purchasing a C450.
Dieter, from Mercedes Benz

You think that's bad?
Well let Grandpa ImperialIPA take you back to the ancient time of Sept 2015, when he purchased a C400 that is now 2(!) model changes out of date.
Talk about whiplash --- I hope that they stick with this decision for a good while. I agree that it would be better for c450 build customers for MB to rip the bandaid off now, but there might be other package / minor tweaks planned for the name change and 2017 model year.

Maybe the model designations should be attached with Velcro so they can be changed easily.

I can see it now ... (fast forward 3 years into the future)
Person A: "Nice Car"
Me: "Thanks. It is a great car and fun to drive."
Person A: "That AMG trim package makes it almost look like a real AMG C43."
Me: "Actually, the C450 and the AMG C43 are the same car."
Person A: "Of course it is ..."
Me. "No, really. Mercedes went to the trouble to create a sub brand of AMG and then abandoned that whole concept less then a year later. That's probably why you do not know anything about it."
Person A: "Never speak to me again ... Poser."
a week later...
Person B: "Nice car!"
Me: "I don't want to talk about it."
