Anybody else ever encounter this? It sounded to be coming from the right side and got worse and eventually I had to pull over for it to get towed to the dealer. Still waiting to hear back on what the problem is.

 

This happened yesterday to me with my C450. I had to turn a few miles from my house and switch cars. I will get it towed to the dealer after Christmas. Any idea on what was causing the noise?

 

Bad Wheel bearing?

Piece of gravel caught between caliper and disc. I had this happen last week. It broke loose after a little sharp braking.

 

Yes. I think that is it. I took the car around the block yesterday and the issue went away. I will still bring it to the dealer just to make sure it is not something else. Thanks for the replies.

 

Yes it was, apparently they couldn't reproduce it after it was towed but they knew of the issue and replaced the pads/calipers with an updated version that didn't have as big a gap.
