c300 2016 Pre wiring nav meaning?
Hello,
Trying to see if anyone can help me, just previously bought my c300 2016 and when i bought it, it stated that it was pre wiring navigation does that mean all i need to do is insert the navigation sd card ? When I press on the navigation button on my card it states insert sd card.... If anyone has some answer I would appreciate it.

Sure... "pre-wired" means there is a SD Card slot in the console that will fit a Garmin Nav Card.

As farbbrisd1 stated, pre-wiring means that your car has all the hardware (and software) needed for the Nav system but it still needs the Nav data to come from a valid Nav SD card. When your car has the Nav pre-wiring option, you can look up the car's VIN decode and it will have the Audio 20 prewiring codes (522 + 355 in your case I think) in the VIN decode.
From what I researched any C-Class built before 08/2017 requires A2139069903 (looks to be the same as the ebay item that farbbrisd1 shared). You should be able to find deals for at or less than $60 from a reputable seller if you search a bit. Since there are few different models and variants of SD cards and the compatibility varies, it is good to check with the seller on Ebay w.r.t. compatibility by sharing your VIN number before the purchase.
There have been few sellers who sell fakes which fail at the time of activation. A given Nav SD card gets paired with the head unit at the time of activation, and cannot be used on another car after that. Each SD card has a unique CID (Card ID) as well which is part of this signature and pairing/activation.

Actually - V8.1 for about $60 from a "reputable" eBay seller is smart-enough deal. I have bought maybe 15 cards from same seller - and they have always been straightforward - and the reason I recommended them.

C300 NAVIGATION
Hoping you can help.
I just purchased a 2019 C300. The console does have a slot for Nav. but the card was missing. I have purchased a few cards that were not the correct cards but I believe I have the correct card now. I have researches lots of sites on how to load the card and work the Nav nd I cant get it to work.
Do you or anyone have experience on how to get this working...its been very frustrating.

I agree, there are lot of fakes. $75 is not a bad deal, if the seller is reputable.

If you have Nav Pre-Wiring - when buying a Ebay Nav Card ALWAYS message the Seller with your VIN# so the Vendor can confirm the right MB Part# for your MB.
Scott - sorry you can't add Nav Card if you don't have Nav Pre-Wiring - you have CarPlay/Android-Auto right ?

-gps antenna-sd card slot-506 Nav capable radio. So strange all those parts exist except for what probably amounts to a harness wire.

I have a 2020 C43 It has an SD Slot in console
