I had the same problem at 48,600 miles and 2 months out of warranty. Here's what fixed it..
There are numerous posts on this topic (one of the best is here https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ode-p052e.html) and I spent roughly 10 hours between reading them and looking at the car and checking different things. Also made a stop at the dealer and they comp'd me a diagnosis.. with the same result that I read in many of the posts. Nearly $1500 to replace the 274-090-17-29-80 - Intake Line.
I read in one of the posts that someone just simply changed the oil to 5W-30 and the code cleared. My car was due for an oil change so began the quest to find the best MB approved oil (IMO). I landed on using Castrol Edge Extended Performance 5W-30 Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil (https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevol..._en.html#close).
Never changed the oil myself or did anything other than tire pressure, but it was time to start! Changed all air filters and the oil and cleared the code immediately, but the code stayed on. Read a little more about that code and found that the car needs to be driven a little for the computer to recognize that the condition no longer exists. Anyway, cleared the code yesterday (6 days after oil change) and the code turned off!
Credit goes to a number of different people adding their posts to the forum. Good luck!

You can get the part from the dealer for around $300. If you’re mechanically inclined it’s not a bad job. No special tools needed. In one of the forum posts there in the service instructions. Took me about 11hrs to complete. Just tedious and a lot of little things.

I had the same issues on my 2016 C300 at roughly 70k miles. Mercedes part department sells a kit which weren’t all that expensive, But the labor is moderately involving and will require a few hours for sure.

P052e positive crankcase ventilation regularly valve Report to Department of Transp
My c300 2018 only have 33k and suddenly the engine light on, when I check it show that I need Positive Crankcase ventilation valve replace. it cost $2300. As I know a lot of people who own Mercedes have the same problem, so I file the complaint with the Department of Transportation to make the company to recall this issue. They said If couple more vehicle report the same problem they will make MB to recall it. you can file complaint here.

To much oil
So I had the dreaded P052e on my 2018 c300 after it was in for an oil change. I used liqui moly 5w40. My wife drove the car for 2 days not noticing the check engine light. Lol. Anyway I noticed on here that some people changed to 5w30 and reset the code and they were fine. I had planed to do the same, but before I did I checked the dip stick and noticed the oil was showing right to the top if not a little over. So before I changed the oil again I just removed about 3/4 of a litre so the oil registered half way in the required area on the dip stick. I started the engine and erased the code and it went away and never came back. Hope this helps someone. Cheers

Hi Luctran,
Thanks for the link, I also filed complaint there.
I have 2016 C300 58000 miles with 5W30 oil in last service and the engine light scan returns with P052e code. Its crazy expensive to get fixed and moreover its at the place that's not easy to access. The labor is 4-5 times expensive than the cost of the part itself and local reputed services points don't wanna touch it, too much work/hassle and time consuming job.
This is crazy, if this part supposed to be changed every 40k-50k miles, why they kept it behind the engine deep under. They should be made to make it a recall part. I encourage everyone to file complaint with NHTSA at the link shared.

I just filed a complaint on this as well. 2017 C300 with 67k miles. Just bought it, dealer agreed to fix minus deductible. It was NOT covered by my extended warranty, just FYI.

You know what, they did now. I got the P052E on the e300 W213 recently. Mercedes sent an extended warranty letter about a few months back in Sep 2023 (timely). I went to the dealer and provided them with the letter and the car. Fingers crossed now.

There are lots and lots of Videos on Youtube of people fixing C300 from all years.
There is a lack of videos of people fixing C400/C450/C43 on Youtube. I had a few videos up but I took them down after Youtube changed everything.
