I just saw that the 2025 C300s will have enhanced ambient lighting that 24 and 23 models did not get because of the chip shortage. This is one that that I wish my car had. Just wanted to vent and see others thoughts on this. Carry on

It wouldn't be standard anyways and facelift is around the corner I think. Just like a new phone, a new one will come out, there is always a new thing I rather enjoy what I have and you should too.

I am looking at this listing right now but not sure how these will work on our w206. It's seems to have all the optional ambient lights for the center console, door arm rest and the vents for over $300 to $400 with the seatback light bar too. I like to see someone install these before i put them on my car. I am not sure how they install them on the door arm rest or the center console. the installation on youtube are the one with the whole wooden/carbon fiber center console piece or the complete 4 door handle piece not just the light piece. one of the review pictures have installed it and look good.

most of that post just talks about the air vents but someone ask the same thing i did on post #12 and unfortunately no one answered.
You take the 2 torx screws out of the door card, pull all the tabs off that hold it to the door, then pull the door card off. For the front doors make sure you push the door card outwards when taking it off so you don't break the clip that's in the top corner of the door. You then take the "handle" off through the screws on it, you then have to open it up, replace the top "fascia" of the handle with the ambient lighting one in the kit, plug in the ambient lighting projector wire to your ambient lighting circuit and then reassemble the door card. Elebest have it in their youtube video, I would not suggest doing it unless you're experienced in car electrical stuff. It's easy if you have existing ambient lighting that you're extending, it's a bit more difficult when you're retrofitting the entire ambient lighting circuit as you have to plug into pins, fuses and earth. Watch the video which does the full install and determine if you want to do it or get a shop to do it. I would 100% recommend retrofitting it if you don't have it though.
Edit: Also make sure you check both the products feedback and the sellers feedback on AliExpress, a good seller feedback is 92%+.

Thanks for chiming in! I am still trying to find the other thread that talks about the install. They had some pictures that might had helped.
My wife has a 2023 c300 with the enhanced ambient. Personally I wouldnt go through the trouble of a retrofit. You cannot see them at all during the day so that part of the driving experience is entirely moot. Of course you have "club Mercedes" at night but there is a glare of the light that hits the windshield and I actually have them on at the bare minimum at night. Makes for a cool promo picture but in reality is almost has no significant value.
Connects to existing connections, need to remove console and all screens. Takes 2-3 hours roughly to get it disasembled (everything pops off easy), and then connect, test, and reassemble.

Where did you get your parts from? Did you do it yourself?

I hear you — it’s frustrating when newer models get features that feel like they should’ve been there all along. The upgraded ambient lighting on the 2025 C300s looks amazing, and yeah, definitely something I wish earlier models had too.
That said, I’m actually planning to upgrade mine using a kit from CarAktis — I drive a CLA (W118) and just got the kit delivered a few days ago.
I’ll share some pics after Installation. Might be something worth looking into if you’re still craving that glow

It will look great. Do post pictures of the kit and the before and after.
