W219 CLS M113 to M113k
Hey guys,
Decided to do a project car from the ground up, dissasembling and modifying pretty much everything that can be modified on this engine or this car in general.
Is there anyone who had encountered or custom ordered forged pistons/rods for a naturally aspired 5.0 M113 as I am trying to keep the original higher compression. The forged aftermarket pistons for an M113k are not an option due to a different stroke. Thanks

If you are going to boost it, Low compression gives you more space to fill with charge, and you can still fill it to the point of detonation. This has all been done on the 211 amg forum. If I remember right the 113 rod broke at about 800 crank hp due to oil passages running up to the wrist pin. leaves a weak spot. I don't think anyone has successfully done anything with the stock silica bore and aftermarket pistons. If you want different pistons, you've got to sleeve it.

Yes I was aiming above 800hp crank, thanks for clarifying the rods. The block itself I already have prepared, sleeved and strengthened from open to semi-closed. The heads have been ported, crankshaft lightened. The general idea was to put a stock 55 ported supercharger and add two mechanical turbochargers to serve as both getting the air out faster and feeding it in the sc. The turbos i put aside for now as It might be a little too much for the engine.
Any ideas what the peak hp for the amg rod is? want to know if i can go with the amg rod or custom H which is a lead time of 5+ weeks and dont feel like waiting.
that being said let me know if someone has the rods laying around somewhere either stock amg or custom ones.
Where I still think the weakest parts of this engine are the rods I can not neglect the question of pistons where I can not simply exchange them with the amg ones and do not know the stock m113 piston point of failure even though they are forged and making sure i run lean i have a bad feeling it wont be enough. Problem. Solutions?

Here’s a couple posts that should help you out. The 5.0/5.4 NA block does perform pretty nice with a K blower and I’d definitely pick up the full AMG engine wiring harness first things first.

Thanks. Yes, have the original harness to go with the SC and the ECU I will reencode to the M113.994 DTM and go from there.

You should post your progress on the 211 amg forum. The real experts at building these engines drop in from time to time. Might make all the difference. Besides being way more interesting than "my airmatic failed" posts.

Hey, sorry for the late reply been busy building mine. You have a CLS 500 with a 7g-tronic? I can get you a list of everything you need but trust me you do not want to go down that way if the engine is not an m113k or if the car never had one in it to start with.
