This way we'll see if haterism or if fraud is involved.Dyno will prove what's what! I'm anxious to see this!
I'm hoping HPS's #'s are legit personally!

Dyno'd the HPS Gen 1
Had my dyno done yesterday at the House of Power. My car was running way too lean with the FMU that came with my HPS kit. I upgraded to a super FMU and Josh R installed and tuned. My car now runs safe and I got about 25wheel HP and TQ a cross the board. I'm sure I can squeeze a tiny bit more power out to the car. I'm running 5lbs of boost so I have no idea how some of these systems are running over a 100 more wheel HP than my car on the same amount of boost with a supercharger only.
BTW, my car was 290whp stock. So about a 70whp gain.

LOL Sorry, I just had a sudden attack of stupidity. Mario, it was great meeting you yesterday. The car looks great and sounds incredible. Don't even think about changing that exhaust, it sounds awesome the way it is - and combined with the whine of your s/c, it sounds like one pissed off car. :0) I think a drag strip meet needs to be set up.....

However let me say great #'s and I got your text message as I was going down the subway.
Back to what I was saying. You guys maybe running the same boost but remember the gen 2 kit has I believe a air to water cooler intercooler I believe. That's why 5lbs of boost in that system would create more Hp at a lower temp.As a result they are getting a denser cooler charge of air.

The air flow is different, creating different response to supercharging

05' E55 has a CP ratio of 9 to 1 for F/I.
Late 2k to 2k2 E55 is N/A with a CP ratio of 11:1.

Overall I'm happy with my dyno. I know its not as much HP and TQ as other systems but the price was right and it cost me $43 per horse power. HOP did a great job and had no problem getting some more HP's out of my car and making it safe to drive hard, even though it was not their kit.
If it weren't for the great price of the HPS system, I might not have a supercharger on my car at all, so I do have to be greatful for that.
Carl, give me a call so we can box this out. LOL
I believe the Gen 1 is suppose to make around 117hp or 466 at the crank, my car is about 35hp shy of the advertised claim.
I still want to see this 479 wheel hp C55 with only 5lbs of boost!! When is the demo day?

I don't believe 479 rwhp on only a 5lbs s/c.

I don't know if you've ever seen the inside of a c55 resonator, but it is straight thru. Replacing it with a straight pipe shouldn't make a single shred of hp.
You never did answer my question - how much boost is the HPS s/c running?

I never said Brandon was running on 5 lbs of boost. I was referring to my car. I think I recall HPS setting the boost lower because the car was brand new and they wanted to be safe since the engine was not broken in. I believe that the boost is actually closer to 6lbs based on what I am reading here. Again I am not a mechanic or engineer. I just read and listen to these folks.

Hey E55Cent,
Did you bought the 1st generation sc as used? If you bought it new throught HPS and installed it by HPS approved shop and your car is running lean, this is unecceptable !!! Please be honest. If everything i asked you here is true, then i'm really worry. I will take on Mark Cumming offer. I have not get a second dyno yet since the SC installed.

I guess the question is would the Kleeman produce more HP than the HPS kit that gave me an additional 147hp. If I am looking for another 50hp with exhausts, headers, pulley kit, LSD for $5000 then can the Kleeman SC alone generate an additional 197hp over stock without headers, exhausts, LSD, Cams, etc..?
If I spent the additional $6,500 plus tax I would have nothing left over for the other goodies.

I'm not blaming HPS for my car; I'm just stating how I resolved my problem and the results. How is your car running? Can you PM me your thoughts of using Aquamist?
Thanks
Mario

Once the install was complete, the car started up right away with no check engine lights or sputtering of any kind. I later had the car checked over by my buddy who installs, Eaton, Vortec, ProCharger blower on Corvettes for over 6 years. He found zero vacuum leaks or any other problem except for the fuel pressure was not increasing under boost. The FMU supplied with my Gen 1 kit is non-adjustable leaving me no choice but to come up with a solution to make my car run safe. I chose to go with the Vortech Super FMU that is twice the size and can be adjusted on fly while on the dyno.

Mario, thanks for being honest. This take away my worry also. Well, you didn't blames HPS but Josh, Mark...etc sure make it sound it HPS fault !!! It really not HPS fault in my opinion because the kit was second hand and it was not installed by HPS approved shop. If it was installed by HPS shop, gaurantee that the shop would know the lean problem during the dyno and fix the problem. Your lean problem could very well be a bad FMU went bad during installation/removal or just went bad like any eletronic parts. The first generation sc came with a non-adjustable FMU (to customer) but it came pre-adjust at the factory for HPS. It can not be HPS fault because they didn't install the kit and so they have no dyno to show if the air fuel ratio was right. The second generation sc all have the adjustable FMU. Sorry, got to go. I'll e-mail you when i find time. Thank you.
