slight plastic burning smell from engine

slight plastic burning smell from engine
i STFF and couldnt find an answer to my question...
i have an 05 c55 with 26k km on it. i have noticed that there is a slight burning scent coming from the engine which comes in through the vents. it's a subtle rubber or plastic smell. even if i was to take the car for a spin just around the block i would smell it. its stronger in the car than when i step out and pop the hood to take a sniff.
does anyone have this issue or have any insight? i will be bringing it in for a service check next week.

Black 2002 C32 AMG
Take your plastic motor cover off and take a close look at your belts or plastic cover. I had that smell on my c32 one time but shortly after a tensioner broke then belt got locked up and total shut down.

i realized Euroteck had instruction on removing the cover right after i posted (doh).
i did take it off, everything appears to be in good order.

it took less than a few mins. simply pull it off.
