p.s i have beaten many trans-am before so i know it can be done. i have even had a bad start and still took the trans-am. everything plays a factor the lag time between shifts especially.

What fuel do you guys in US run, last time i was there you couldn't easily get more than 95 octane. Is this still the case? I always run my car on Shell V-power 99 octane. But then in UK we get screwed for the price. We pay £1 per litre!!!

Then again, I've seen a C6 ZO6 run 14.x at the track. So anything can happen, especially on the street.
Well I do know that stock times are like on motorcycles its by a professional in a closed setting so there is no guarratee that a racer will do the stock average times but at the same time they might do better. Thanks

Take the driver skill out of the equation and the C5 will win.
With EQUALLY skilled drivers, driven on the same track under the same conditions, etc...etc....the C5 will win.

You were correct at the launch my car then pulled nearly 2 cars right away and couldn't pull further...I won cause of my nice lead...the WS6 was slowly but surely catching but not enough to win by the quartermile...it was fun!
My two good friends always had a almost sibling rivalry on whose the faster man and well one does have branging rights now...

I doubt the WS6 will race me now...that I am modded but curious to see what the additional power does to him this time.

You also asked about a stock C5 Vette. Well, just consider it's a lighter car w/ the same engine as the WS6, and better traction off the line. Having driven them myself, I'd wager on the C5 winning by several lengths. However, you could be dealing w/ an inexperienced driver too, therefore it becomes a driver's race again. If he's a 6-speed, you just need to intimidate him a little bit and make him dump the clutch and spin a bit. He'll still likely run you down around the 1000' mark though, as they run 108 in the 1/4.
The driver of the WS6 did run alot on that day and even challenged his brother in a 1991 Vette several times and he smoked his brother...my AMG just was the better car that day...
