Secondary Air Injection Diagnosis C32 Amg
The Engine Light Has Shown On My Car C32, I Have Just Dropped By My Mates Garage. He Diagnosed It With The Computer Which Come Up With A Secondary Air Injection Fault. I Have Warranty So I Will Be Taking This To The Dealers,
Does Any Body Know What This Fault Means? And Will It Effect The Car In Any Way?

I just had mine replaced recently. Your secondary air pump is gone (the pump is located right next to your passenger headlight.) There's a service campaign out for a faulty relay that causes the pump to short (Service Campaign #2006030011) They'll replace the relay and flash your ECU at no charge. Note that some guys have experienced throttle response issues after the ECU flash. Below is some info you might need that I got from one of the posts on here. There's plenty of info on this in the forum just do a search on "error code P0410" Good Luck! Just print the info below and give it to your dealer and they'll know what to do.

Have you had both ECU recalls done on your C32 ?
The second one, they replace the air pump relay and reprogram the ECU to limit the time the air pump runs, so it will not fail as soon.
Do a search on recall or air pump. You will see lots of info on this.
The air pump helps the cats out by providing O2 to heat them up faster at start up.

Controversial Dealer Flash
Unfortunately, this is the dreaded (and very controversial) ECU flash that has consumed the E55 guys for a while. Some guys have actually shown data before and after this ECU flash claiming that Mercedes also installs a new EEPROM that hides the location of a new aggressive torque limiter, which prevents or limits (and in some cases severly detunes) the car's powers if you have any mods. There doesn't seem to be much effects if the car is stock.
I say do NOT let the dealer perform the ECU flash until you research this a little more. There is plenty of very useful threads in the E55 section of the forum about this topic. For now, just have the dealer fix the pump and the faulty relay relay switch but not to flash your ECU with the new software.
Here are some threads about the ECU re-flash, but if you do a search, you'll even find the discussion gets much deeper.....

but if you don't have a ECU flash and only bolt on mods.. you should be okay.
If you are stock.. you might see a bit different power delivery as on my C32.
As far as my E55.. got the recall last month.. and the engine feels better than before.
than again.. I only have bolt on mods and I'm pushing more PSI than stock.. maybe I dont notice the power difference as much.
