C32 being unresponsive or a flat spot question...

Ok- I've noticed on different days when driving between 50-60 and when the car appears to be in the top gear, I push the pedal down (gradually) the car just takes its own good time and barely picks up speed. If I'm at a standstill,
there is plenty of punch. Any idea what's going on?

With 608 posts, you're not a noobie, but.........

Sounds like your intercooler pump - Click here for all you need to know about your intercooler pump and its subsequent replacement. BTW, LET offers a replacement also.

I think the OP is referring specifically to speeds between 50-60.
If he is then it’s because 50-60 is the weakest acceleration point in a C32. The gears are usually at their worst ratio and the car doesn’t downshift low between those speeds so you will usually get the worst acceleration if you punch it between 50-60. Punch it anywhere under 45 and over 65 and you should get the bullet like punch.

does this happend early in the morning..

after driving the car for 30 mins or so?

if the car is not kicking down to the lower gears... you might need to reset your transmission..

if that does not help... try manually shifting and see if you hear boost from your compressor.

another way to find out if your IC pump is not working.. drive the car hard and come to a stop.. turn off the car and go to your passenger right tire and listen for your pump. It should sound like a tiny little drill...

it could be your compressor clutch not engaging properly.. or even some misfire...

I know exactly the feeling to stomp on the pedal.. and the car acts like a "Civic"....

Thanks for the posts. Since I have warranty and 100.00 deductible I'm pondering doing it myself with the posts referenced here and still spending about the same amount........Will price it on ebay and see what's out there.
Thanks all-

Look like I have some troubleshooting to do.
