Yesterday I noticed an burning oil smell while waiting in the car wash line and found oil coming from the driver side valve cover, just under the oil cap. We've only had the car 3000 miles since buying it; it has 23,000 total miles, and never noticed this before. It's an '05 C55.
Is this a normal thing for these cars? It could just be a bad seal, but it could also be too much pressure in the system, which means bigger problems.

Also check the inside of crank pulley and see if the oil has found its way down to it. Some say oil cant get into the crank bolt and that maybe true but its good to have your eye on it, get it fixed ASAP.
Also check your motor mount they go bad and leak too. I'm on my 3rd set

It's going to the dealer on Thursday. It's still under factory warranty so at least I won't be out any money. I'll have to ask them to give the engine area a good look over to see if there is oil leaking anywhere else, but I can't see anything other problem areas from the top of the engine.

2005 Crossfire SRT6
There is a TSB for the crossfire and I assume it's the same for you. My car only has 4000 miles but had the lead at 200 miles. I went to MB and bought the gasket sealant and did it myself. I didn't want any scratches or crappy service for something so small. I also changed the aluminum bolts to stronger ones.

Love the screen name...![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Here is a link to a nice DIY that just posted in the W211 forum, should be the exact same job sans 2 cylinders and a few less valve cover bolts. Ignore the coil/plugs/wires part as thats not needed in your application unless you've never changed them, which would be a good time to do it.

From what I've seen many M113/M112's have weaping or leaky valve covers. Mine are due for this job.

Dealer sealed the cover with their silicon band-aid fix. I'd rather have a new seal but it's workable for now. If it happens again then it'll get a new seal.
