Feeler: shift like my C55 package
Guys I'm thinking of putting together a group buy for my shift kit.
My currant setup involves the updated blue top solenoids for the valve body. and a tweeked & tuned TCU.
Their are two ways I can do this. I can supply the MB blue top solenoids, or you can buy them from the dealer yourself. I can offer a competitive price to what the dealer charges.
Then your TCU will need to be shipped to Dyno-Comp to be flashed.
I will say this though: The TCU tune will yield minimal effects if done alone. The currant "brown top" solenoids in the C55 can not flow the added pressure the TCU adds. When mated with the MBZ "Blue top" valves and the C55 TCU. the shifts are crazy. Up and down shift.
This will for sure make your transmission come alive with firm, deliberate shift and clutch engagment. It will also drop transmission temp due to less friction. Over all making your transmission last a bit longer. Not to mention it will let your transmission handle upwards of 600hp from the engine.
Anyway I'm just feeling if there is an interest form the C55 guys. Price is TBA, but it will be very resonable.

What's the pricing on the TCU? Will it work with the LET HSTC? I have a Maybach transmission so I presume it has the blue tops already?
It has not been tested with a HSTC. I would think you have the blue tops. I will look into it for ya.

I think the blue tops were from a maybach trans if I remember correctly so AMGSC I don't think you will benefit from it. I want to do this myself because the shifting is really terrible especially on WOT it sometimes just stops in it's tracks before shifting. I don't have the money for it though. I already know how much the solenoids cost, not sure how much a tcu mod is.

trans cover. Mike posted some picts of his. That part doesnt look too difficult. My fear is that as a DD my car would shift too hard.

It's all Good
I had my Local mod friendly MB dealer install the solenoids. IMHO . With the cars trans in mode C , It is bearly noticable. My Girl friend never said a word. I put the trans in S mode & slammed throttle, She said whooa. Laugh. In S mode you know there are doing the job
This is a easy Quick modd that works well. Worth the money , time & effort.

Shift Solenoid
hello ; The shift solnoids P/N 240 - 270 - 00 - 89 , you need 2 of them cost around $150.--
And the shift is still comfortable in C mode
There was a DIY here a while back I'm sure you can find it with a Search

Maybe I'm not very good with the search function, I saw some threads but not a DIY for doing this. Is there are other parts that come down when the valve body is removed? I.E. springs, check ***** etc.? The last auto I had a valve body out of was a GM TH350 and there were "other" parts that came down with the body. Also, how much trans fluid goes back in and how does it get checked? I don't see any dipstick.

I suspect you meant "your", condescending remarks are always best when those attempting to talk down to someone comes off looking like an idiot. Silly me, I was doing a search for solenoid, I never thought about not spelling it correctly and doing a search. Thanks so much, I still don't know how much fluid or how to check it.
