Quote: I discoverd that the botom of the back seats can be pulled forward using the hidden pull tab. The location of the pull tab is in line with the seat belt, and it is right between the space of the seat and seat belt. Just reach down and pull up!
That's funny, I just learned that too. My mechanic did it to show me how one of the previous owners almost burned alive. Under the back seats is two fuel tanks and I guess the pump in between them burned through the floor. I'm probably not describing this well, but when you lift the seats up you can see charred parts. I'll go snap some pics. The mechanic couldn't believe it.

What's the purpose of pulling up the back seat cushions like that? To run wiring into the trunk? Or just to access the fuel tanks, heh?

Yes, and it is the way you fold the rear seats flat.

Wait, you pull them towards the front of the car and then you're able to fold down the 60/40 upper part of the rear seat even farther?

Yup. That's what your manual says.

The other cool piece here is this; under the lift-up rear seat cushion is a small panel that can be removed to adjust or re-connect your e-brake. I did this when my cable came apart. It turned out to be a 10 minute, $0 fix instead of several hundred dollars at the dealer.

Just noticed this today. The car automatically locks itself after a few minutes if the key is not in the ignition. It's good if you forget to lock it, but bad if you forget your keys inside

I think it only locks if you unlocked it with the key from the outside and don't open the doors for a little while. Also, if you pop the trunk and don't go into it for a little while (like if you are taking groceries in) when you do the alarm will go off.

+1. and the time is 30 seconds after pressing the unlock button.

I was bored so I timed this, actually. It's 30 seconds to re-lock, give or take, if you unlock it but don't open any of the doors. Maybe there's a setting somewhere? No idea about the trunk.

Gonna seem like a dumb question, but are they flipped up? It flips them *down* automatically, but not the other way Anybody care to explain why? I can't figure it out for the life of me... and I feel like I'm cheating if there's an explanation in the manual :P

So if you've just driven, get of your car, forget to lock, the car won't lock itself automatically? Will have to try play around with it and try it i guess...

No. It will never lock itself in that manner. The self-lock was intended to be a safety feature, in case you accidentally unlocked the car (you know, the key in the pocket/lean against something and push the button trick). The car, after 40 seconds, assumes you did not mean to unlock it and will re-lock itself. That is all it does.

there's a cool looking green button in the trunk, used to release the trunk in the event you close someone in there. It even lights up.

It does if you cut the wire/cable to it

But then they can just use the seat pullhandles to lower the rear seats and then cut ya from behind while you're driving

I have a question that might fit into this thread. I've never known exactly what the knob with the blue slashes on it between the center air vents is. I looked it up once and read something about outside air. I still don't completely understand it though. Anyone else? What is it?

+1. I get cold air out of both my driver's side vents no matter which position that thing is in, unless the AC is turned off.
