My AMS Oil Experience (Positive)
Hey guys, so i recently decided to switch to AMS Oil in my 2005 C55 and boy am I happy! My car sounds better and runs a lot smoother. The Idle is noticeably smoother and more stable. Its been about 5k miles since Ive switched over and the oil feels as silky as day one. This stuff is great. I was skeptical at first but now it meets MB standards. I recommended it to my aunt and sister for their MBs and i noticed my sisters C230 is running much smoother... it used to have knocks and pings like crazy, they're pretty much gone now. Its amazing.
I have a representative that a friend referred to me. Hes really nice and he has had a Chevy van that he put 1 MILLION MILES ON!!! He has a Video to prove it...... The man solely does the AMS Oil Dealing on the side because he loves it so much..... I can provide his info if anyone wants it PM me..

It's the only oil I use. I've been running all their fluids for 8+ years and any new car I acquire I notice a big difference after switching over. It's not the cheapest but much cheaper than replacing a engine or tranny.

enigma its cheaper than the mobil1 i buy from the dealer per quart. Ever more so when you buy a full box of 12 quarts. talk to john he gets it cheaper than the AMSOIL website.

this is a load of crap.
Until you have used oil analyses showing a positive effect, this placebo effect "sounds better, idles smoother and more stable, runs smoother" nonsense is just that...nonsense.
how about facts instead of fairy dust?

Knocks and pings can not be fixed with oil. "Pinging" is predestination. And if you have a knock that is not predestination and new oil fixed it. 1 you did not have enough oil before or 2 you have a serios problem that is going to come back.

I really like AMSOIL as well. One of the first things i did was to flush the car completely after i bought it and put in Synthetic 0W30 Signature Oil Series. Car starts easy in the freezing temps, its nice and quiet and very smooth. I've done a lot of maintenance on it so i can't say its just the oil, but my side to side rocking of the car went away etc. I love their oil so i'll stick with them for a long time. I've used it in all my cars including my 2011 bmw 335i.

I’m not going to say anything good, bad, or indifferent about any particular brand of oil. What I will say is if changing the oil in a car changes the way the car idles, usually something is seriously wrong with that car and/or the old oil.
If the car were started and the temperature was minus 10, I could see oil having an impact. However, the OP's profile says he lives in Monrovia and works at Evolution Robotics, so he's in SoCal. Weather dot com says today Monrovia California is expected to have a low of 44 degrees and a high of 72. That being the case, I don't get it. I may have this all wrong, so I'm really hopeful that someone can post how any approved oil can cause an M113 to idle worse at those temperatures than some other oil. This isn't a flame and I'm not looking to argue - just a little insight as to how this is possible.

As a long time Amsoil user in evreything I own I would have to agree with the skeptecism expressed by others in this thread. Amsoil should have no perceptible difference in drivability compared to any other quality oil like Mobile 1, etc. While it may improve wear and very cold starting over some other oils, I seriously doubt it would be noticable from the drivers seat of a well maintained Mercedes.
Again, I use Amsoil in everything I own with a piston (except my CL65, in that alone I run the Mobil 1 0W40 AMG reccommends) so I am a firm believer in their products. However unreasonable claims are likely to turn away more logical consumers than entice them in to trying something that sounds too good to be true.
