Any Interest in Duplicating EvoSport Headers?

Tomorrow I will have a set of EvoSport headers. IMO these were the best bolt on shorty headers for the C55/SLK55. Evosport is no longer in business and these headers are very rare. I have to redo the headgasket on my other car before I stall these headers.

I have contacted only one exhaust manifold maker and looks like the price will be around what they charge for Lexus V8 bolt on shorties ~$900. Instead of doing a complete mock up and having a test vehicle. PPEEngineering can just replicate my headers.

Is there any interest in getting a set made for that price range??

What are the part numbers for the stock manifolds? I am trying to figure out which cars these headers will fit. I know they will fit SLK55 and C55. What about E55\S55? 500 series cars? 550 series?

Even if different chassis use the same part #'s it doesn't necessarily mean they will fit. The physical dimensions of the EvoSport headers are larger then the stock intake manifolds. In theory they will fit at the cylinder head and the exhaust downtube but may not fit around the steering column or other obstructions. You will probably have to look pretty closely at the other chassis to see if there are obstructions or not.

CLK55 and 500. All these cars have the same block. Not 550 as that is a different engine. There shouldn't be too much of a fitment problem being shorties but certainly the exits might need minor cutting/welding.

Clyons0203, I would buy a pair today as well. As long as they fit my 05 C55 and a direct bolt set up I am all in, let me know too.

Thank you

Supercharged CLK500 & ML500
This maybe a good option for the W209 cars as well since the C55 and CLK55 use the same front clip and the CLK55 and CLK500 engine bay is almost the same. I have my old manifolds laying around somewhere, so I will get the part numbers.

+1 on the possible rubbing issues. I have MBH LT Headers and the space is VERY tight!

GREAT NEWS. A friend of mine is a welder at a car fabrication shop. I have seen his work and he is good. I sent him the evosport headers and he is going to quote me a price. He said he can duplicate them. I am not sure if he will be doing this on the side or thru the business he works for. The business does have an in house dyno. I told him I will make that 14hr drive back home to test these.

Where is he located? If he is in MD area he could use my car to test fit.

Fabricator is having a difficult time finding header to down pipe flange for the headers. Its round two bolt but with a flare sticking out into the down pipe. Anybody know of a place the sales these flanges?

His CNC guy can make the flanges. I have contacted a bunch of aftermarket exhaust fabricators and nobody makes that flange.

Anybody here have any suggestions? If not I guess these wont be duplicated.

Can you post a pic of the flange that's needed to make this complete. I'm sure we can find it somewhere...

I would be interested but how much would they be? If they are cheap enough I will grab a pair. Can anybody tell me why Mercedes performance headers are so expensive? I am used to paying no more then $500 for a new set of high end headers for my other cars. Are they made out of gold? J/K

You could ask eurocharged where they get them from. Or get them CNC'd. Or you could just use a standard flange and provide the opposite flange as a cut and weld on solution like kleemann do with their mid-lengths. It might not be 100% bolt on but if the headers are good quality I can't imagine too many people would want to go back to stock.

Mercedes headers are expensive because there are not many of these cars around, there is less return on the R&D, probably a lower proportion of owners wanting to modify their car and people tend to be wealthier than with domestic cars for example.... so they can. No gold, just economics.
