Just picked an 03 c32 one owner vehicle with only 55,000 miles. Very happy with it for now. Planning a few upgrades of course. Been looking at the H&R springs, but really dont want to lwer the rear, it sits right where I like it the way it is. What are your thoughts of putting front only springs on to close that larger front fender gap?
Here's a pic of how it'll sit with H&R springs and a #4 pad in the back. Rear is a little too low for my liking but I used rear adjustable camber and I'm content now.
I stumbled on a thread where others thought the H&R was a bit too low in the rear and they used both a number 4 pad and a number 2 pad, one at the top of the spring and one at the bottom. May look at doing that. My previous car was pretty low and rode like crapola. Was on KW coilovers and still rode like crap. I dont want to sacrifice the nice ride i now have with the oem c32, but really need to close that front gap. Looks like I'll be ordering the springs and some pads.
My old ride...
You know I was just going to start a thread on this. I also wondered why the c32 stance is so high in the front and perfect in the rear. Why do the newer c230 sports sit so nice, yet still clear curb stops? (c32 barely clears stock).
Also my right rear tire wears 2x as fast as left rear. Is this do to limited slip or.... I know the C32 has negative camber issues etc.
So in a nutshell...what's the best way to even out the front height AND get a better, more even wear on rear tires????? There's got to be something that they fixed going forward in the c230 sports.
Its not that the C32 sits higher in the front, it's that the fender opening is much larger than the rear giving it the appearance of it sitting higher. Not sure why they did that....
I recently purchased a c55 that appears to be lowered in the front only. I believe this is the reason the car has so much oversteer. Be carefull messing with the geometry of the car. It may have unexpected and unwanted results.
@ECSTuning, when installing H&R springs, are new rear lower spring shims required?
madspeed,
It is recommended that you replace them when changing the springs. We have them available to order on our site and you can get to them by clicking HERE. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
