CHECK YOUR FLEX DISKS!!
This public service announcement brought to you from my used car dealer, who told me that he'd replaced both flex disks before I bought the car... and a little drive vibration that I ignored for several weeks.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR FLEX DISKS! They are at the front and rear ends of the drive shaft. If it has *any* cracks in it, it should be replaced. If it looks like this, it must be replaced *immediately*! Failure of this part may cause catastrophic damage to the trans tunnel, mount, trans output shaft, and drive shaft.
Fortunately I caught this one just in time.

That was either installed wrong or there's some other major problem, it looks like it's been compressed longitudinally, possibly from worn trans mounts/engine mounts? Has the car been in an accident? Center support bearing in good shape?

No doubt that the engine and trans mounts were likely worn out for many, many miles prior to being replaced six months ago. I'm the second owner, and the car is at 134,000 miles. There is no evidence that the car has been in an accident.
As I understand it, these are reinforced rubber parts, and can fail on their own over time.

What was the brand name engraved on these when you removed them? I just bought a new one for me front from the dealership when I could have bought 2 new Meyle ones for the same price as dealership. I haven't gotten down to changing it as yet though.

Sorry, did not check the brand after it was replaced. It's very possible that it was the cheap Meyle brand. I replaced it with the near-OEM Lemforder.

Reviving an older thread on these Flex Disks....
i think my Front and Rear Flex disks need to be replaced as i have some pretty bad vibration when in gear and when in idle my engine vibrates like crazy. i already replaced the motor mounts, trans mount, plugs & wires and nothing has fixed this.
would next logical check be of the flex disks as the culprit?????
what is the correct part number for those?
dealer 6 years ago changed my rear and used part #230410015 but doesnt come up on several MB parts sites as the correct one for C32.
most of the MB parts sites list these parts for Front and Rear so assuming these are the new/correct numbers for front and rear??
2034100215 - REPAIR KIT REAR $83 bux on parts.com
2034100447 - REPAIR KIT FRONT $172 bux on parts.com

I think you mean 2304100115 for the rear
http://www.mbpartsworld.com/p/__/FLE...304100115.html
Unfortunately there are multiple numbers listed as the Front disc, and none for the rear - you'll need to call your stealer and get their opinion on the part numbers.
I seriously doubt that the flex disks are the cause of your current problem though - the vibration from a flex disk only shows up when the driveshaft is spinning. Don't have a guess on your idle vibration...

As mentioned above, the flex disc only function when the propshaft is spinning, so it could be either engine mounts or you could have a problem with the vibration damper or the flex plate which is spinning as the engine is idling. Maybe inspect the condition of your vibration damper/crank pulley and maybe someone knows how to test the flex plate on the engine however I wonder if this can contribute to engine vibration.

so the dealer tells me for a C32 the flex disk parts are these:
front flex disk = 2304100115
rear flex disk = 2034100215
i may just replace the rear flex disk since i've driven the car pretty hard and manually shift often at high RPM's which probably wore out my motor mount and trans mount early (got 3 years of of them)
my idle is slightly rough when in park/neutral, so makes me think its the MAF or throttle body? its more noticeable when in Drive for sure.
i just love this car still but at 13 years old and 116k miles these increasing repairs and and mystery on what to fix exactly is making me think its time to pull the trigger on that W212 E63 that i've been eyeing for 3 years now ))))
still lovin the c32

The C32 does not have an MAF, intake temp and pressure control injectors. The throttle actuators on these cars crap up with burnt oil from blow by, a catch can really help reduce this bulid up. Great $135 investment.
