First M3 csl kill

Just got back from a tour of duty on the German autobahn.
I was cruising on the left lane when suddenly the beautifal face of an M3 filled my mirror. So I stepped on it ... would you not ?
I slowly pulled on him, only after passing 210 kmh I got about 1 or 2 car lengths. Disturb by this I let him pass me after a while and found out it was an m3 csl.
I chased him and I was now in a better position (wind shade) and I overtook him on the middle lane.... the guy did not know what happened ...
Usually I am not surprised anymore and would not even take time to report this here ... but this was an m3 csl, a very rare car.
Stock cls will eat a stock c32 .... thank you evosport and MKB !!

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
actually, a csl is slower than a manual m3. read mags like "evo". i think a stock 32 would have pulled on a csl.

I agree. A magazine here by me tested a stock M3 and the CSL. The CSL was 0.2 seconds quicker 0-100kph. In-gear acc was also just marginally quicker than the stock M3.

roozy, last dyno showed 440 hp and 526 Nm torque. Since then I have installed the SL splitter, but have yet to change the entire sl intake which could bring a few extra HP.

I do not know, but I pull easily on a stock M3, this was not the case with the CSL. According the the CLS specs in has 360 HP and weigh 150 KG less then a regular M3. Maybe he had a tuning kit as well ... I will never know ... it just made may day !!

My other kills for that day : bmw 530 diesel, MB S600, Porsche Carera 4 and many more but they where no match anyway.

Yes, that is what I thought too hehe a 3 liter diesel.
I tell you, a stock C32 will have a hard time against this car, it has loads of torque !

I heared bmw is going to come up with a 3,5 liter diesel engine ... hold your breath !

It's a lightened M3 with a bit more HP, 360bhp, I think.

The CSL is basically a expensive track-tuned lightweight E46M3.
For example, it is 47 seconds faster than a stock C32 on the Nordschleife Ring (7:50 vs 8:37), and 32 seconds faster than a std M3!

BTW 7:50 is wicked fast. The CSL accomplishes it by pulling insane g's on the turns and having enough power to back it up on the straights. Check the data out.

A pullied C32 should be optimal on the Autobahn, but the CSL is not exactly in its prime element on the fast straights. But you can be sure a CSL is not used to being pulled on by anyone.

Great kill. I don't think it would be possible without the mods.

Porsche Turbo Stage 4, Cayenne S ... gone C43, C32, ML55 & Ducati 999.
Nice Job bverotti ........

ro0zy, my "C32" was doing 415 hp & 560 Nm tq, with stock exhust.
25 hp less than bverotti's C MKB/EVO but 34 Nm more. For sure Vadim's car will go faster or may be my C with full exhaust.....
Well, today I am writing another story with the Turbo, I'm doing 450 rwhp & 490 rwtq...but I miss my C-AMG adventures..:p

CSL stands for coupe, sport, light btw.

nice kill, but I'm having hard time believing it mainly because the M3 CSL is a lot lighter than the C32 and w/ a little more hp than the C32 as well. While is may have less torque, but at that speed we ain't talking about torque.

BUT the advantage to us is that the C32 has better drag coefficient.

Frank I must admit that my car is heavily modified, without that I would not have stood a chance.
Furthermore it was not like if I was pulling on him quickly, it was slow. That is why at first could not believe it, I am used to killing stock M3, and those guys get small in my rear view quickly.

A dearer M3 on a diet with more power.

IMO, not worth the extra big bucks over an standard M3.

Nice kill story though bverotti, 415bhp is just awesome. Have you got 1/4 mile times or the 1/4 is too short for you?
