Acceleration Cable "Gap" Question
Incase your confused heres what I mean. Picture yourself opening the hood, now you put you hand on the linkage to raise the idle or to make the car roar. when you give it gas theres a gap from there from where you pulled to give it gas. if you let the cable go it will snap back to the "sitting" or idle position. Heres my question, is there a gap between the end of the cable and the other part where the cable sits after you let go the gas?
Mine has a gap of what I would say less than an eight. the idle seems to be normal but I have no clue what the rpms are suppose to be in park, anyone know? Thers is an adjuster on that same cable to make the idle higher or lower, I just want to know if it was/is set correctly.
Thanks for any help or advice (please take a look under your hood, it will only take 1 minute of your time).
What I have done is basicly just "timed" the computer to downshift better and at a more useable speed. Doing this with the linkage/cable. The car downshifts when you press the pedal a little to move to another lane. before I had to almost press down at the middle of the pedal. And when I do press to the middle it really downshifts with great RPMs and it just feels great and the car goes fast.
hoping to hear if anyone has the sprint booster on the c43.
Now on the throttle cable I have mine set with no free play at all and it make no real difference in my engine operation. Where was yours set before and then after to make it better?
Jeff
Mine had a nice size gap as mentioned in my first post. Now it only has a gap the width of HALF the size if a paper clip. I will probably see better mpg as well because the rpm is not as high as it use to be. So at stop signs and so forth there is less gas going down for no reason. Hope this makes sense.

You are talking about the cable from the throttle to the throttle postion sensor wher you can adjust and free play right at the lever arm.
Or are you speaking of something else?

please correct me if im way off
able is attached and you can actually move it with your hand to rev the motor as though you were using the pedal, same effect as in both cases youre turning that pulley... i think there was some slack in his cable and after he removed it the throttle became more sensitive to the pedal motions because there was no slack eating up that initial range of pedal motion...
please correct me if im way off
