ANYONE FOR A 2005 E55 ENGINE?
I just don't see why anyone would want to do that when you can buy the whole 2003 E55 for $26,000 nowadays

And No, it doesn't work in a C43 unless you're willing to go stand-alone... or rip out all of your existing wiring, and sensors, and fuel system, and ignition system, and ECUs, and, and, and.... and replace it all w/that of the FI E or similar; essentially making your vehicle an '05 E hiding inside an old W202 C body!

...it's fun ta dream, ya... but take it from a guy that put about $25K into his car. It's like having a boat. Don't do it unless you'll never be sorry for the ridiculous depreciation you'll have to eat on the money you sink into those insane modz.

The first W211 E55 came out in 2k3. Same motor as a 2k5,both S/C same HP. The gearing in all of the trannies used on the M113 motors is the same. Just that the stck F/I cars have stronger internals in their trannies and I believe bolt up differently.
The W211 E55 I believe has a 2.63 rear diff ratio comprared to 2.82 in the W210 E55 which is N/A.
There is a guy over on one of the e46 boards that essentially did what c55 was talking about. He swapped an entire body wiring harness w/ all computers and sensors from an e46 M3 into an e30 325is. Of course the kid was an MIT engineering grad, and worked in the electrical engineering industry, but hey, it can be done!

2003 was the 1st year of the Kompressors!
They have different speedometers. Has nothing to do with the motors, the gearing, or the factory speed limiter. That's why I asked the question. MB went from a 160 mph speedometer to a 200 mph speedometer. The engines are the same in all years with slight changes to the intercooler pump and supercharger clutches.

this has been done dozens of times...
what's up with the transmission situation? i know there are changes from the C43 trannies- but i know we can swap in upgraded ones (newer ones). If the tranny will work we could probably run stock ECU if you were willing to get it dyno tuned etc. etc. and play around with some other stuff.
