Neither do I at this time right now but I still give props where props are due. It's quite an accomplishment and I'd say he's a pioneer.

I think you hate any car with a 5.5l motor blown or not.

The 4.3L motor is a nice motor and the 5.5L even better especially as an upgrade for the W202 C43.

So far how difficult would you rate this swap compared to the N/A 55 swap?

I think he thinks u were naïve to what is going on and somehow asking if the swap was as easy as installing the sc? I don't get it either.

No, I ment that you blew your 4.3L motor. Hence the tick tick boom thread, and I noticed one of your posts hinting towards you doing this as your next setup. No disrespect. Btw, I was that kid back at newport with the E320 about 2/3 years ago. I also delivered that c/f hood to you about 2 years ago aswell.

I'm sure it's more challenging being that you have to add more cooling components and he also re-wired the harness to accomodate the engine harnesson the kompressor motor.

By the way nitro,I have not read the thread but did your motor really go bad?

If so your next move is very predictable. But sorry if that was the case if your motor was truly blown.

Hey Tommy! I remember well, just wasn't sure if I was missing something by the way you wrote that.

Carl, it went kaboom alright..and I'm 99% sure it was my own fault the handfull of metal and the completly drained oil pan confirms I'm going to start a thread with pics when I start cleaning things up.

To keep this on the OP topic and not mine I have thought about the E55K swap. $ and capability will probably keep me to the N/A 55 swap. However, if a reciepe that can be easily followed pops up I wouldn't mind something like this.

The timing of his post is so ironic....*******s..

It would be alot more economic and practical to get the 5.5l N/A but if you can swing getting the K5.5L and afford the expense, that would be a good luck.

I sometimes contemplate finding a nice Vortech kit for mines. But we'll see.

Right now Money-one is the man and I'm just chasing his progress.

However,I can assure you that you would love the N/A 5.5l option as well.

Nitro

You will like the amg 5.4L N/A motor. Especially if you use a better exhaust that gets rid of the precats. If you open up the intake side of things by boring out the MAF housing to 81mm and doing so with the elbow and if you cut the throttle body at a 7 degree taper to throttle plate you will get lots of extra flow.

With the intake changes and exhaust changes my ca r would run high 12 secs. at around 111mph if I recall right.

Anyhow while I really like the N/A engine the Kompressor engine would be awesome. That extra power would really put some steel in your stride.

Sorry for not responding but my email wasn't posting anything from this thread.

The N/A 5.5 swap hands down the easiset swap. The only thing you had to do was re-route the cooling line on the back of the head for the factory trans. cooler on the C43. Everything else was plug and play. Don't forget reseting adaptations. The 5.5 Komp. has a lot of little ignorant things that had to be done and modified. Too much to list. If you are Really intrested in this swap being done to your car I have pics.

I will absolutely be doing more of that when she is running right. I just did a short pull last night after i got the t/b worked out (wiring incorrect) This thing pulls quite nicely. No MAF clamp, No tune, No Coolant(waiting on radi.) and the fuel pump housing is leaking. Waiting on parts.....I hate waiting on parts

Would you mind sending me a PM about what this swap should cost without labor? I did plan on picking up the N/*** to replace my 4.holeintheblock, however I came across this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-08...Q5fAccessories

I thought these sold for around 10K so this seems like a really good deal, too good maybe?

HOLY SH#T What a steal. People are clearly intrested. If your engine is indeed blown, you should jump at this if the funds are good.

Sweet swap

Pay no mind to the folks that sipped a little to much haterade! Keep us posted especially on the tuning. I wanted to do this to my CLK 430 but was told it would be to expensive or wouldnt work with stock ECU or TCU etc.

I have to say that I am very angry at money for performing this swap. Now everyday at work when I see a 55 Kompressor engine, I sit there thinking about how much better it would look inside the engine bay of my C43. Thanks money for causing me to daydream and lose hours. :P

I do what I can to help the community You would never guess what I look at now and only think "Maybe if I waited a little longer that would probably fit" V12tt

Update: Not sure what day it was but I finished making the intake pipe I let the car warm up and when the car got up to operating temp. #1 cylinder injector failed in the open position and flooded/fouled that cylinder. Replaced injector and plugs for that cylinder and she straightened out. 2 Fridays back the radiator and fuel pump came and were installed. This past wednesday I got the car to where i felt comfortable driving her home (going to go dyno thursday). 20 mins into the drive after several hard 70-120ish pulls The last one gave out around 90mph. First to go was the coolant and second was the oil. Didnt take pics but everything was covered in oil including the whole driver side Yesterday was spent cleaning the oil off and resecuring everything correctly. Today I wired in some resistors for the EGR and Air Switch Over solenoids. They were consistant codes but now after a 6 mile trip Hard of course no, I repeat NO Check Engine. This is with 100% zero tunning. The MAF will i assume come on. Looking the car over I found the oil cooler line is trying to work its way off again The cooler is too small and is acting as a restriction. And It also feels as though the bypass valve is not adjusted correctly there is a lag before kicking in. Buying a boost guage, UEGO guage and larger oil cooler.

Few pics and vid. Please excuse my commentary.

Jeez bro,I envy you! I guess once she's sorted out I have a feeling you r gonna have to do something about the stock axles. I know they had a habit of breaking on Black Benz's CLK55 and that car has bigger rear end parts than ours stck. I'm sure you'll have a resolve for that anyway .

I need to plan a trip down there b4 fall. I'd love to see the beast.

Keep up the good work bro.
