Exclamation E55 AMG Headers

I have a buddy whom wants to sell me his headers from his 2001 E55 AMG!

C43 is basically the same engine, but what about the size for these headers?
Are they a direct bolt on on my OEM AMG exhaust pipe?
Will they fit on the rest of my stock pipes?

Do you know if the size on a stock exhaust pipe from a E55 is bigger in diameter than stock C43 exhaust?

Does C43 use 2 inch pipe or 2,5 or 3 inch pipes?
What about the size in inch for a E55?

Are the stock pipes matching in size to each other?

If E55 uses bigger sized headers and I use them on my stock pipes am I going to notice any better performance from the engine?
Better breathing?

My understanding is that they won't fit due to some very tight spacing in the engine bay that isn't an issue on the E55. I know ProjectC55 knows a little more about this and can hopefully jump in. I believe 208 clk headers will work on our cars.

2001 E430
I'm not 100% positive but I'm pretty sure the C43 shares its exhaust manifolds "headers" with the W208. The W208 V8 manifolds are a lot longer in the back then the W210 V8 manifolds (E55 and E430 use the same manis) so I'm thinking there is little to no chance they would fit.

If you search ProjectC55 has pics of his Kleemann headers and I think AMS and P1 are also making C43 headers now.

Hiya guys!
Thanks for the updates!
So if I understand you guys correct with my poor and lousy english, these E55 headers will not fit my car?
Is this correct?

I wanted to change my OEM headers because of a cosmetic matter!
My headers don't look good, kinda rusty on certain places!
Therefore I wanted cleaner looking headers free from rust!

I would've had to pay about $$200 dollars for these used E55 headers!
It isn't an expensive price but if they don't fit then it's just waste of money!

So what do I do?
Continuing to use my stock ones or get another new ones that are made of stainless steel instead?
Where can I buy serious stainless steel headers from a reputable shop?
No mambo jumbo garbage!

Anybody know if the size diameter and inch size of the complete exhaust pipe
differs in size between c43 and e55?

Thanks for the info guys!

Hey bro, you got a fox touching your caah!

Yeah it's my Original factory headers I'm talking about!
You say the factory OEM headers are not any good?
I know when they get worn, rusty and old they crack on certain places!
Is this what you're saying?
Mines are not there yet, my car has less than 60,000 miles on the clock= 92,700km!
Thanks

So I should be looking for 208 CLK headers from a 430 engine?
Thanks

Correct, We have headers for the C43 in stock and ready to ship. getting OEM E55 headers won't do anything (plus they won't fit). The only way to make power using stock flange on C43 is with our headers. No OEM manifold will do anything. The headers come with OEM gaskets and we have a set ready to ship.

Also, our stage 2 C43 package is also available (Headers & pulley). Free shipping is now included on all orders.

link to our website is in the signature, thx

Hey bro!
I'm in Sweden, the other side of the pond!
In Swedish Gulag or Siberija!

Is it going to be an xpensive shipping to ship those lightweight headers?

Hey Kowal,

No, express air shipping for stage 2 overseas is roughly $50 additional (its actually much more, but we just absorb most of the extra costs). Just PM us to finish processing your order.

Hope that helps

Yippppeee kayeeeeeee motha fatha!
I'm way to much Americanized!
I wanna live in America!

Can you post some dyno charts for your stuff on the C43?
I like to read the technical data sheets before I buy something!
I'm a tech spec info geek when it comes to buy stuff, I like to read what the content is all about!

Btw what's your name?

If you buy the 'special UK version' from CKS performance for about $900 (549 GBP) then you get an astonishing 21hp gain (typical) !

Maybe UK HP is different to US HP :-)

These gains of 21 bhp must be very positive for our cars?
At a cost for $900 dollars I hope there are no donkeys and black sheeps included in this pulley

Seriously only a pulley can't increase 21 bhp on an already tweaked engine?
It's like saying a sport air filter adds several hp?
A sport filter gives better breathing and maybe some improvement in gasmileage!

I think there are several mods needed to get a 21 bhp gain!
Correct me!

This pulley looks good and flashy, stock pulley looks ugly and rusty over time when it gets old.
There is a huge price difference between the aluminium pulley and stock Corteco H-Balancer that can be bought for less than $100 bux!

There are to many golddiggers on performance market trying to sell junk described as HQ performance parts!
The only thing is, seller suck you dry with the pricetag you have to pay for such part!

Therefore performance data is required before buying
such expensive performance parts for our cars!
Best and positive thing is if a racing team tests these performance parts and
having proof of testresults from their dyno tests!

I am not critisizing anyone, but if I pay such expensive price for a part, I want what I expect to get!
Also known as Top Performance.
And not an engine problem as some other forum members stated before!

Did AMS ever get their headers back in stock?! And did we decide that after market shorties for the e55 wont fit our cars?

You dug deep to find this old thread.

reading on UK MB forums, one member had those AMS stuff on his CLK, weldings cracked on AMS headers.
Dude was still happy to deal with AMS because they took full responsibility of their products!
Maybe this was a Monday lemon header he got?
