Exhaust performance




I'm just wondering why there's backpressure??? I thought fluid/gas flow from high pressure to low pressure??
Is it got to do with restriction in the muffler mechanism??

The catalytic 4 convertors and muffler don't help...
Seems like one would need to be able to measure both back-pressure and escape velocity and test different exhaust configurations to really vet out the most efficient setup.
