It's a beautiful car, having one myself in the past I can vouch for how much I loved the car. Yours is a steal price wise. My guess would be 4 things...not entirely in your control. One being the mileage...its a bit high regardless of all the work that has been put into it, and it looks clean from the pictures...but some people tend to be scared by higher mileage regardless of maintenance even if you had every record since day one. Second would be the age of the car, a lot of people looking for a used car who don't know what exactly a "C43 AMG" is won't be looking for one or consider one as a used car...third might be the hood not being painted to the factory color...minor thing but for someone who is a perfectionist the fact that they would have to do it themselves might be a turn off. And last being the time of the year. Selling a RWD car right before winter can make the sale harder, I remember my C43 was a nightmare in the snow. This is just the stuff off the top of my head however if I had the extra funds I would be interested. You need to just be patient, although its tough...its a special car and will be bought by someone looking specifically for one. It will drive you crazy with anticipation waiting especially since you have another project car, however just be patient and hold your price since it is more then fair...bump your thread every couple of days and before you know it you will be in talks. Hope this helps.

I perhaps can shed some light on this.
This is a very niche car, like most AMGs. I had a 2001 CLK55 AMG, with 41k on it. It took almost 8 months to sell. I priced it as the lowest W208 CLK55 with low mileage in the country. Low supply of these vehicles, but also low demand. In retrospect, I wish I would have kept it. It was in fantastic shape and had extremely low miles.

Now throw in the high mileage and older model year. You have very little demand. It is going to take time to sell it. Also, chances of selling it on here are slim. I would recommend putting it on autotrader if you have not already done so. You should take better pictures as well and I recommend you get the hood painted. That alone would make me not interested.

My experience. Maybe I got lucky.
1999 Volvo S70. Base model. All original. 151,500 miles. Listed on a Houston based photo forum Nov. 14. $4,000. Shown on Nov. 16 at 6pm. Sold on Nov. 18 at 1pm to the same person.
The big difference between my online listing and yours are the photos. My car is in great condition and I proved it online. Get better pictures. Try getting things in focus. Proper color rendition helps a lot too.

More than likely your location. Not alot of people even know what a C43 is. If you were in Los Angeles you'd have a lot more takers for this.

i meant where is the online "c43 for sale" posting showing pics and description. seems like everyone responding here has seen it, but i don't see it in this thread, unless i am just stupid. looks like that cars.com link you originally posted just showed other non-C43's for sale ...

it's in the classified section of this forum (mercedes vehicles sub-forum).

I couldn't help but notice you were missing the tow alarm, I don't mean to be nit picky but the ad says "fully optioned".

Regarding why the car hasn't sold, it has a target audience. One way to move it may be to get in contact with that audience. To do so, you may want to consider contacting the International Stars section of MBCA (Mercedes-Benz Club of America) and listing it in their classifieds. The International Stars section covers Detroit Michigan and the surrounding areas.
The C43 is a specialized car. Cars dot com, E-bag and Craig’s list are basic transportation sites. You may find a buyer there, but you’re just as likely to find someone looking a Kia. If I were looking for a specialized Benz that probably wasn’t going to be found on an MB dealer lot, first I’d check with the largest MB Club in the US. Then Hemmings. Then I’d start checking "other" places – forums and basic transportation ads.

the preoblem with painting the hood is. If i paint the hood im painting the entire car. So then Ill have to raise the price. So the buyer can paint the hood if they please.

No doubt it would raise the price of the vehicle but not by much and I think it would make the car look like it was worth more, possibly make it easier to sell...

To be honest I had a awful time trying to my C280 Sport and we are having a awful time trying to get rid of the 00 C230K. If one has issues selling those two I dont see how a C43 will sell easy. Dont mean to sound so negative but I just dont have any luck with anything 202 Chassis. I mean the C43 is very cheap to buy and offers lots of power so I dont see how people wont bite. Where are you located? Winter is near so if your in a snow belt then thats 99% of the issue there I am guessing.

My $.02...Glad to see you are painting the hood. Most buyers of C43 AMG's aren't kids making the jump from JDM, at least in my experience. Prospective buyers of AMG's probably want a complete car, near OEM in appearance.
Second, take better, higher res pics. All your photos are somewhat grainy in appearance and don't do justice to the paint or interior.
Finally, consider listing the car in a broader area like Los Angeles. The west coast is euro-car heaven and has a greater number of AMG aficionados outside of Germany. Use craigslist to keep the cost down and be prepared to help the buyer with shipping.
In my opinion, 163K miles isn't squat for a german-built motor. It appears that you've already handled many of the maintenance items so the wow factor should come from the cars driveability.
Good luck.
PS Youtube is also a good place to post a "For Sale" video showing the car in action. $5k for German-built 300hp/300ft-lbs ?!?! This is a no-brainer kids!
