Key fob replacement?

Key fob replacement?
So my C43 came with two fobs, both black (I've heard of some coming with a chrome version??), one works fine still, the other, I'm finding that the unlock button is worn out (no signal light with the unlock button, works with the rest).
Do I have to go through the dealer for this? I shudder to think what a new key fob costs. Can I pick up one from eBay and re-synch it with my car's systems?
Also, what's the difference between the newer 3 button chrome keys and our older black 3 button keys?
Thanks!
Jason

Yeah, I knew it wouldn't be cheap from the $tealer. I have one functioning, and upon taking the broken one apart, found that the unlock button came off of the circuit board. I think I can fix it actually, with some precision.
So I'll work with what I have for now. Thanks guys!

From my own research, I believe the stealership is now the only place to get a replacement key. If someone else has a different source, please post it! I paid just over $200 for my new, chrome key. Works like a champ and looks good, but rather pricey.

To be precise, the $230 I paid was the body shop's price. It was sent there by the body shop, so the dealer charged them the shop discount.
I called the dealership to get a quote on another key for a spare: $340.

I can tell you exactly what it will cost you as we live in the same city AND I just bought one.
The dealership in Beaverton will charge you $271, I knew the guy at the parts counter so he gave me a discount and I paid $184
Here is the thread I had posted this info in:

The new key not only looks better and updated but it also works further away then my old key did. Not sure if it is better technology or just because it has newer parts inside

That's a sweet price Jason/503, I don't suppose your guy can hook up other C43 owners by chance? I still have one good key, and I'd easily drop $184 for a new one to keep my current working key as a backup

I doubt he would but I will ask, there is a member on here who works there in the parts dept. I'll see if I can find his name.

I figured, but never hurts to ask! If you find his name, let me know, would be MUCH appreciated, thanks!
BTW, just got my car out of the shop, still have to figure out the hesitation issue, but everything else is top notch now.
