Definitely not functional, but for the looks department, what is the most aggressive ET for a 10.5 width rear? Would ET52 fit? Lowered.
hard to say. i think there was a guy on here that had et56 lowered and it worked but was tight.
yea the problem with upsizing rear for looks is on the 43, we have very small fronts in comparison so we cant upsize the front. You get massive push under steer with a large rear and small front. and with our AWD is is not close to necessary like the c63 which has rwd. my plan is to run a 275 or 285 rear with 245 front. still beefy (especially the 285) but will at least keep a closer to oem ratio.still not great oem. i bet a 255 square setup would be killer but squeezing a 255 up front is difficult. i may attempt it. we will see.

the 20x10.5j oem wheels are only on the coupe which has a wider rear end than the sedans do. it "should" fit but will be very tight.
yea the tire is everything. the sedan with 305s i saw looked pokey. but this car is hard to photograph it to see what it actually looks like in person.

My h&r springs are fixed, so when I go through big dips on the road, it rubs the fender liner (worse with passengers) very slightly though. If I had adjustable springs, it probably wouldn’t even touch.

That’s from manufacturing. The rubbing doesn’t happen there. It’s more on top, on the tread part when the suspension bottoms out. This is why it only happens when I speed through dips. The tire goes up and inwards when the suspension compresses and the felt like lining is where it rubs. If you have height adjustable springs, you can raise the height a little bit and it even helps with the dreaded “reverse rake”, unless the wagon doesn’t suffer from it when lowered on h&r fixed springs.

Thanks for the invaluable info. I will likely run 285/25R20 so that also helps. Just wondering if 10.5 ET52 is cutting it too close. From your pics, I think ET54-55 is a good number to shoot for, but looking at pre-owned right now and there's a nice set in ET52.

I remember you mentioning a c63 oem for the rears... Will it match the fronts you already have, or are you planning to do 19/20 f/r that the c63 is optioned for like the coupe? I just wanna make sure because of the 4matic the 43 has.

If you can stick out 4mm more which i think you can, you’ll be ok. That basically puts your outer rim as if you had 10.5” +52. If you have a 5mm spacer available, you can try installing that with your current wheel and be able to check clearance. From there you should be able to check if you’re comfortable on how tight it fits. What aspect ratio do you have on the 265’s?

That’s an excellent idea. I'm currently running 265/30. I’m only lowered 10mm, and intend to drop further.
Ok so i have found my dream wheel for sale and I’m a bit confused if they will fit.
is there any way to make this combination of spacers/tired you can recommend to make these work on a stock height 2019 C43 wagon.
specs are:
front: 19” 8.5 wide and 38 offset
rear: 19” 9.5 wide and 38 offset

You could have the rear hub machined for the 9.5's reducing the offset. Need to get them down to et40ish - et45. BBS has proprietary spacers that could easily put them right back to correct spec. Given that the bore and all that is correct.
I run 9.5 et39 lowered and the people a et36 stock height are poking pretty hard. I would not go any wider than my current set up in the rear.

rear is bolt on. may poke a little though. i think an aggressive fitment for rear is 9.5j with an et of 45. so pushing another 7mm may look off unless you are lowered.

sorry I put the wrong offset before I edited it, I’ll attach a picture of all the wheel specs I have currently.
machine the wheel to increase offset is a concept I have never considered.. so with a 38 offset I can hope to achieve a 43-45max?
