Boost Gauge

I'm in love with my C43....there's something about having a supercar that doesn't stand out in a pack of traffic....

One question...the only boost gage is that silly bar graph under AMG functions. Is there any way to get a marked boost number ? I've had more than a few turbo cars, and would like to know the actual boost levels....

Is there a "service" menu anywhere that would tell me ?

The JB4 and accompanying app can tell you actual boost numbers via logging but there's currently no live readouts or gagues that I've seen available.

I’d probably recommend a JB4 so you can log and review later. (You don’t have to tune, you can leave it on map 0). Alternatively, buy an AEM boost gauge with a boost tap and mount it somewhere.

Yes, I second the AEM boost gauge mounted in the driver A pillar. Logging is great, but I for one need to see my peak boosts in real time without looking at logs. That is the only way you can view at a glance, if your engine is making full boost, pulling boost or you have loose hoses on your Turbos/ intercooler that is bleeding boost into the atmosphere.

I second the fact that the AMG boost bar thing is cheesy as hell and not very accurate in my experience. A car like this should have an analog boost gauge, since most of the engine power is coming from your turbo boost.

For those who plan to intall a mecahnical gauge, I remember one of the members installing it in the middle air vent. So, I did a quick search, ‘C43 boost gauge’... found it! Looks pretty cool too!

I take it you’ve never used a jb4? It does logging but also provides real time PID’s so from one display you can monitor several PID’s in real time (as well as log). It’s arguably it’s best feature, aside from tuning. All from your phone..

I would recommend a P3 gauge if you are contemplating on potentially runing your interior for a gauge. I had one in my RS4. It hides well in the vents, is reversible, and provides lots of options for measuring since it is read from the OBD port, and can additionally be fitted with a vacuum line.

Yea but when I'm driving aggressively I don't want to be looking at the small numbers on my phone, unless you can bring up just the boost in big numbers, otherwise I would be more comfortable with a 2.5" boost gauge mounted on my A pillar.
