If you don't find someone to fab an intercooler for you, give these guys a call. I am sure they can help. Spearco is very well known for their high end products
Hey Gman,
Thanks for following this thread and my journey with this project. 😁👍
If I recall, from Steve Nelson, they are rated at 250whp each; so cumulatively the working rating is 1200+ whp.
Yes, currently will be using the stock sleeves and the stock crank. Guess would be cool to have a full billet forged crank.
The fun in it all, and the challenge, with this project is that no aftermarket companies supply these parts so as you can already see almost everything is custom builds.
Still trying to track down someone who can make me an upgraded radiator and heat exchanger.
Cheers and thanks again for following!
I once quoted the ppl @ Vaeth its a german well known mercedes tuner and they offered to me a stage 2 for the glc 43 with 460 hp and a second air to water cooler. Maybe you can try them they doo also fuel cooling kits. They are thd only ones who doo that as far ss i know. The also rebuild old engines so you can try https://www.vaeth.com/
The other seriouse tuners over here are GAD
They doo almost everything if you have enough money 900 hp glc 63 ...
4 wheel drive e 63 coupe (the old one) with 1200hp https://www.gad-motors.de/
Thanks for the recommendations and contact info!
contacted Vaeth, unfortunately hadn’t heard back from them yet.
Good news is Ron Davis from Ron Davis Customs got back to me and just waiting now on a quote for the custom radiator and heat exchanger.
Of course no one has these parts off the shelf so with the custom build will have to track down some samples to send for the molds.😆

You know its Germany not US ppl have unions here they dont have to work as hard here😜
Happy holidays everyone.
Update:
Finally heard back from Ron Davis over at Ron Davis Racing Products Inc. and they said they are able to fabricate a custom performance radiator.
Looking to order a sample to ship to them. As well as tracking down a heat exchanger.
They quoted $1,568 plus shipping to do the radiator. Lead time is 10-12 weeks. 🤦♂️
Did ask them what the cooling rating would be over the current stock radiator/heat exchanger.
Guess the 10-12 weeks helps with time; still trying to coordinate getting the motor pulled and rods/pistons/ ARP studs installed.
Have a great holiday everyone.

How much do you expect this to cost when all is said and done (including cost of the car)? Really curious
Also how come you went C450 over a C43? I think the 43 would have only been a few thousand more. Did yo not think the 9G was worth the extra money as a platform?
Hello everyone,
First I hope everyone is safe and healthy during this crazy time and thank you for those who have been following this thread.
I know it has been sometime.
Update:
Just spoke with my contact yesterday in California who will be pulling the motor and installing the pistons, rods, and ARP headbolts.
Special thanks to @b6tbfmp for all his help making this connection as well as the hookup on the vehicle transport.
In addition to the rods etc, we decided that at the same time it be best to pull and send my radiator and heat exchanger over to Ron Davis performance to use as molds to fabricate the custom radiator/HE performance build.
Build out time is 10-20 weeks for those.
For some who have asked/wondering I did speak with Corey at Weistec and they did say the transmission should be just fine but in the future if it was warranted I could send them the tranny and they could look into making their “bomb proof” billet transmission.
In addition, as I write, I also need to touch base with Matt @AMR Performance since everything: @TurboKits.com turbos, Meth Kit, heat wraps tune etc has already been paid in full and things are sitting at their shop since last year. 😅
Of course now this COVID issue has gotten serious as many of you know so my contact has been slammed at work but now, with some time on his hands, is coordinating with his counterpart on the cost and ordering the necessary parts.
So as it seems, and I am sure you all are aware, none of this stuff is off the shelf making every inch of this project a one off (and yes $$$ , which my wife hates 😆
Challenging for sure but through the help and support of members on this forum, this has been and still continues to be one amazing and fun project.
Thanks for the support and glad to possibly share info to help others on their future projects. 😁
Stay healthy everyone.
Might as well give up already. It’s the same news you gave us 4 months ago.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Feel free to not follow this thread, up to you.
Just being honest with a project such as this and many others can appreciate.
Look in the threads to see how long it took just for the turbos to be made.
I believe that’s why they call it a “project” and since it is not my daily driver, and very few people if any have even taken on such a ($$$) project for this model; I am under no time constraint and just want everything done right.
When it is all done; we can all enjoy in the process and the results (good or bad) and ultimately your post will be just a thing of the past.
Cheers!

I think hes just upset because, like many of us, we are anxious to see what is going to happen with this project and how good the results will be. We're all just anxious for updates but feel like the progress has been unnecessarily slow.

You (we) don't get to have expectations of progress on a project that you're not funding or otherwise sanctioning. It's that type of attitude on this forum that drives folks away from sharing to begin with.

Im sorry sir! Please forgive me! Please forgive me for not holding your hand while you were asking about your overpriced Kleeman Kbox that has no warranty and low gains and nobody uses but you insist on using them anyways. Please forgive me for not being more sensitive to your feelings as I was investigating your motives for wanting to use such an expensive piggy back.
Please also forgive me for trying to make you see that your worries of piggyback warranty issues are largely pointless (even though the K-box has no warranty as you stated).

I am sorry to have hurt your feelings.
No need to be sarcastic here. Appreciate your contributions on the topic if you have any...
Yes, we sell Wagner, they are a great Charge cooling company. They have intercoolers for tons of vehicles!
Hey that’s great to hear!
Do you all and Jesse foresee carrying the new Wagner radiator and heat exchanger replacements for the C450 as well?
Any news when those would be available?
I recall talking to another member about it when he was inquiring about a year ago or so and Wagner told him they weren’t moving forward with it.
Fast forward to 2020 (sort of nice taking it slow on a project like this as time goes by the market is catching up with products or at least prototypes LOL)
Thanks again for the Wagner link posted by Gman.
