So yesterday I go to my girlfriend's house and after a while I leave and go to the gas station where my buddy is. I had parked my car and we were talking and I see this new M3 coming in, parks to get gas and the guy gets off looking at my C63, walks towards the car, starts to check it out and looks at me and I give them the thumbs up and tell him "nice M3" he says 'thanks' and asks me if the C is mine, I said yes. He says he wants to run me jsut for the fun of it, i agreed. He goes inside, pays the cashier in cash, pumps gas and tells me to follow him to this road that is perfect to run.

We did a dig. I put the car on ESP Sport and in M mode. 3 honks and we are off. 1st and 2nd gear I just ripped him apart, then he kinda hung in there in 3rd and 4th while I crawled away slowly. I put 1 1/2-2 lenghts 0-70mph, then before shutting shutting down at the end of 4th (125mph-130mph) I had a total of 3 lenghts.

Second run, we slow down and he says he spun too much, I was kinda bummed since I was all excited that I had won. Oh well, we did another dig. This time I put the car in S mode. No paddles or anything. 3 honks and same out come. lol.

Comes back and tells me something that I couldnt hear and then gives me a thumbs up. We decided to go from a 40mph roll. 3 honks and I immediately start to pull, 2nd gear is just too much on this car, I put around a rear bumper to half a car before hitting 3rd, then slowly pull to a lenght in between before shutting down at 140mph.

55mph roll, I was around the top of 4k in 3rd gear, I knew that was my sweet vtec torque spot (I kid hehe), so three honks and we are off, I pull a bit to a rear bumper and then he hangs in there and I put maybe half a car in between slowly before shutting down at the end of 4th. This was in M mode.

We go back to the gas station and everyone is waiting for us. Later that night, before going out, I stop at the gas station (same one) to get some beers and the guy is parked there, but eating inside (it one of those gas stations with food court), and one guy, perhaps his friend outside smoking a cigarette comes up to me and says 'nice car dude', I say 'thanks man', then he points at the bimmer and says "you two should run'...I smiled and told him we did this afternoon already. He says "oh schit, fo' real? how was it?"... i looked over and smurked and did the two armed bang thust. felt like a douche but it also felt good.

btw, my take on the new DCT M3s is that from a dig or below 40mph, they still dont stand a chance, the M3 just doesnt have the torque to keep up with the C63AMG no matter how fast it shifts. However, from 55mph and above it could be dangerous but I still give the edge to the C, still not enough power on the M. On topend it might be close. Perhaps pass 60-70mph.

Now imagine the 2009 C63's with the PP option! Better launches due to AMG's LSD perhaps! ...which can translate to even more gaps between the e92 and the w204.

I guess you never mentioned where you're located - the U.S. isn't getting PP in the 2008 MY C63. It will be offered with the 2009 MY in the U.S. (from what I've gathered via mbworld.org)

Worldwide delivery of the 2009 C63 doesn't start for another 6 weeks. Production starts in 4 weeks

 

Actually, I have a MY09 being built in less than 4 weeks. Decade 2 of June, which I think is 2nd week of June, is 09 production with delivery by end of July

 

What is "the 2009 C63's with the PP option" please?

 

PP = Performance Package - it was an option on 2008 C63's, but NOT in the U.S. However, it is coming to the U.S. as an option in the 2009 Model Year (MY).

Main ingredients (IIRC) are LSD, 19" forged radially spoked AMG wheels, and some alacantra bits in the interior. Anything I'm missing? Suspension changes/adjustments?

Karma Hunden - that's pretty cool if you already have a 2009 MY C63 w/ PP... however, some "in the know" seem to be suggesting that 2009's won't be available until July at the absolute earliest. Can you snap a pic of your window sticker (i.e. showing the options) and post it? That should settle the discussion

I'll snap a pic of the window sticker and the interior. In the south region we received 3 09s last week and 2 more this [next] week. They are being produced. Don't believe what your dealer says. I work for MB and I go to a lot of dealers and some say it will take 3-5 months to get a c63 thats available and some said its a matter of 2 weeks. I received a call 4-6 day after speaking with sales representative about 2 C63s coming in. Both was were not even pre-ordered and one was an 09. They were gonna use it for showroom purpuses since there has being a lack of c63 presence to the buyers. But being that I wanted the artic white (the other one was black), I said I would buy it and we made a deal.

 

I was assured that the 09's are not being built until 10-15th june, delivery to north america mid july approx. You must be some very special dude to have mercedes build and deliver an 09 while everyone else on the planet has 08's ?

Fletcher Jones MB in Newport Beach, the US's largest volume Mercedes dealer, says they will get an '09 the week of 6/20/08.... someone who works there who is not a salesperson let me know that...

BTW it is white and they have a few black cars coming that do not have owners waiting either.... FYI if anyone's interested....

 

How does it work with the 08 and 09 models in the UK? If you have one delivered next year, will it automatically be the 09 spec and does it cost more??

 

How are they getting a 09 on June 20th? If that was the case it would have to be built this week or last week. My 08 is supposed to be built this week and the dealer said it would not be in until around June 25th. Sounds like I need to make a call to my dealer this afternoon. If the 09's are this close I am not going to pick up a 08 for the same price.

+1 - I completely agree w/ this line of thinking... who would bother buying a 2008 MY C63 at full MSRP, if they could wait a couple WEEKS (at most) and have a 2009 MY C63 instead?

 

My car is a MY09 and is being built in decade 2 of June, so 2nd week of June with delivery at end of July. So definitely would suggest you either get a discount for the 08 being delivered at end of June or get priority on an early 09.
