to bad mr. 8speed was banned already. I think topgear hit the nail on the head with the Lexus. I personally enjoyed the plume of burnt oil the flew out the back of the car as the stig pulled away to start his fast lap. In general Clarkson was not feeling the lexus very much. But we cant say he liked the MB nearly as much as the M3. So the pecking order stands where we expected I think. Lexus brings up the rump followed by the RS-4 then the C63 and finally the M3.
I am just happy the C63 is very close to the M3 and that lexus made a pretty ugly and lousy vehicle.

What Lexus doesn't have is pedigree. Looking at the car objectively, it's pretty good. But purchasers of cars like these are buying more than just the nuts and bolts. They're buying image, status, and a sense of history. Mercedes, BMW, and Audi have those in spades. Lexus won't ever have that if they don't do something (successfully) in motorsports, and I don't mean vicariously through Toyota or TRD.
That's just my two cents...

Amazing from AMG guys who would be more knowledgeable about cars, or so I thought. The ISF is a hell lot better than our C32s, and oh yes, the C43. Have you guys ever driven it? The tranny is way more responsive than my C32, and the chassis tuning, stock for stock, is a step up.
With that said it's not on the same level as the C63 or M3, or even the CTSV. But it needs to be priced less to justify the performance deficiency.

No its not a POS but its not equal to the other cars in the segment.
Car and drivers test showed it to be 10 seconds slower than the other cars in its class (being the C63, M3 and CTS-V) when lapping a very long track. Now with that it was the same in lap times as a 135i which is still pretty decent.
Bur for 63k and for the hype surrounding the car the IS-F is a solid first effort but its not going to make people switch over from the Germans. Lexus owners might buy it saying its built so well and that its transmission shifts so quickly but its still not a segment leader.
I cant believe that car had that smoking issue. First the Zonda and now this!

Try this, hope it works, the stig driving the ISF and tonnes of smoke bellowing out the fake four pipe exhaust.

Wow you guys really are tuff on the poor lexus. I have driven the car hard and it was rewarding to drive. I enjoyed the handling, the throttle blips, power, and the very nice interior that comes in a lexus. It took a little while but the style really grew on me, so at the end of the day I have alot of respect for lexus for doing a great job with the IS-F. I also saw pics of this modded IS-F on the clublexus site, OMG it looked sick and I think its owned by a girl. Anyone else saw it??
I have also driven the M3 not as hard as the lexus but carrying a good pace. The M3 Felt a little more planted, gave me more feed-back, and the sound was awesome. I must say the lexus in a straight line from a roll pulls down the M3 pretty strong and will keep right on pulling, all that being said the M3 is faster everywhere else.
I have never driven a C63 so I can't say much but from the looks of things, oh boy seems like I'm in for a fun ride, lol

I think Lexus is charging its customers the costs of Research and Development... considering that it's their first.

BMW 530 - Looking for a CLS55
WOW..that IS-F is a BEAUTY.
I think Lexus still made a decent effort on their first try at it......I like the styling minus the "layered" Quad Exhaust....
I often miss my 98 GS400....IMO the design still looks great on the road after 10 years...
