How about some feedback on the MHP ECU/TCU.
All you guys running the new MHP ECU/TCU unit how about some feedback? Some of you guys must have a 1000 miles or more on the unit by now, whats your impressions so far? Any regrets or problems? Car and transmission holding up?

Just the other day I was running around town. I must have stopped at 3 Mercedes dealers for some pricing info and a few local performance shops in my travels. I caught wind from a Tech that MHP's third party tuner (and this is a total rumor so take it for what it is.) skipped town and cant be found! I even heard there are people who have been out ecu's for their car for like a month.
I guess one of the techs knows the person who was doing the tunes for the 63's and that guy is no longer doing them. Remember this is just a rumor at this point so it might be worth giving MHP/Andy a call and see what the deal is. It would totally suck if this rumor was true because they were doing good things for the C63.
One member on this forum said Andy/MHP has chosen not to post here anymore even after his suspension is lifted. hmmmm.... makes you wonder.
IF this was true I would be upset. What do you do if you need to be re-flashed after mods to get the A/F dialed in?? What do you do if the dealer give you an update and flashes you back to stock? Those seem like valid questions.

Well that sucks. I guess it was all to good to be true. Looks like it's time to call Renntech!

How was your experience at Dynocomp (and with Renntech)? Given all the issues I have seen here I'm going to pay the extra $$ and go with Schumacher's recommended tuner.

Very valid points indeed. Knowing a tuner will be around to reflash is a critical purchasing criterion for me. I was leaning toward MHP given what seemed to be high-quality technical posts and results from Andy, but to drop $4,500 for 1's and 0's and then have potential problems of getting all zeros does not make me feel comfortable. Renntech seems to have a fair price and was formerly with AMG I'm told (in business for 20+ years I believe) so I think I'm leaning in that direction.
With that said, there's no way I'm getting an ECU upgrade without appropriate radar/laser protection. I know I can probably get by with a $500 RD but I've decided upon the Escort 9500ci. It's about $1,900 installed. I figure I can get into enough trouble with stock performance so that's a better investment for me (can't swing both the 9500ci and the Renntech tune at once, or I would).

I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Tell them what you want to do and they will make it happen. Dyno-Comp+Renntech+Schumacher mercedes= No voided warranties. Whats nice about Dyno-Comp is on the spot ECU tuning. No down time, no shipping off the ECU.You can have a tune in about an hour.

Any dyno numbers or track results?
Dyno-Comp rules IMO. All the guys that work there are cool and good at what they do. Richard Garcia, the owner knows his stuff, Ken Rudy the renntech Rep works out of dyno-comp. Dyno-comp has in house Dyno Dynamics dyno. Most important Schumacher Mercedes is a tune friendly dealer.

I know they did a C63 and stock it put down 333whp stock On their dyno and when they were done it put down 425whp. Those numbers are based on their Dyno Dynamics dyno. 92whp gain.. thats huge.

I have close to 1400 miles on my mhp tune seems like an animal, no chance to dyno but will soon i dropped the 180 t-stat and just received the carbon air box so will have dyno numbers on the rest soon, as we get out of this deep freeze in new york. i haven't heard any rumors like that.

also one other thing that made me choose the mhp tune and products is andy, how many companies can u call at 12:30am get an answer to all your questions. Ive used various tuners and ill say none. as per my late night talk with andy he told me that he will be off probation 9pm today and will be back to clear this up. and have any of you rumor starters tried calling or you just jump on someones bandwagon and start nonsense talk

Every single person that got their tune has been unhappy. At least every single person that has posted in this forum.
I have yet to hear from a satisfied Evosport tune customer.

Man oh man, all I wanted was some feedback on how people like the ECU/TCU tune and all hell breaks loose.
Looking forward to see what Andy has to say on this matter. From what I have seen from him, Andy and MHP bring a fresh approach to the tuning of the Mercs.
I guess we will get the run down tonight.
Good luck Andy,

I wish ONLY people with the MHP tune that PAID for it would chime in as the OP wanted. Are they happy with spending $6000? Was it worth it? Would they do it again? Is the shifting night and day, or only subtly different? etc etc.
We know Jcart is happy, but who else![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)

I got the MHP tune for the TCU as well as the ECU; I've nearly 1000 miles now. No one will give you the customization options that MHP will. MHP worked with one of the biggest mod shops here in central FL and they had no problems with MHP. I've been nothing but happy. Andy has never not immediately responded to my emails, and gets everything to me overnight.
I have not seen one complaint from any C63 owner who's gone with their tune; has anybody else?

As for the turmoil at MHP, I am sure it will get worked out. If there is money to be made with this product (s), then people will work it out for the better good.
