**Dyno**MBH Long Tube headers. shipping 2/22/10
I've been real busy the bast few days replying to post, Pm's and working on the C63 long tube headers. We had a great road test last night. Did some more heat cycle testing on the dyno this morning. That went great. My ears are still ringing from how insane this C63 sounds. I just got a chance to take some Advil so the headache from the fumes and noise is slowly subsiding.
We were able to conduct a bunch of test runs on the C63. We conducted test ranging from bone stock to headers no cats and a tune. and this is what we got.
The first run on the cart is not a same day dyno run. It is a run from when the owner first bought the car. It dyno'ed around the 330whp area on our Dyno Dynamics dyno. Granted this was done back on October of 2008 with only about 100 miles on the car. So it may have picked up a few wheel HP as it got broken in. It is however the only base line we had.
We were able to load the cars original stock file back into the car and run a dyno with Long tube headers and no cats only. The car put down a mind boggling 409whp! We were all blown away to say the least.
The we loaded up the tuned file and picked up another 50whp! Giving a total of 458whp! On our Dyno-dynamics dyno. Thats with Long tube headers and tune alone!
without rambling on anymore here is the chart and a few pics you may have seen.

Holy chit, pricing is still 3800? And which tune out of curiosity did you use? These long tubes meet up at the factory resonator location or what are you using for a midpipe and is it included in the price?
Congrats, your hard work is going to pay off.

Awesome stuff! Its a little scary to hear that its THAT loud. Do you think catless might be a little too loud for everyday driving? Would high flow cats still be loud enough? Also, are there any fitment difficulty/issues?
BTW how much time does it take to install these? Would you be willing to speak to a local shop in my area so they can give me a quote for the installation?

Hooley!
come on! this is not the time to be modest here. when i was at dynocomp, they showed me it put down 470whp. did you print out a slip early before they were done with the fine tuning?
also, guys, oddly enough (at least I think so), there is NOOOO drone. (Hooley's car drones like a ****.) at all. took it up to, well, above 100 (really quickly too ) and there was absolutely no drone. car sounds absolutely scary. it attracted a SL55 that learned rather quickly not to mess.
this car still needs an intake too. but wow, unbelievable sound.
congrats on the great product and great results, Hooley! you work hard and glad to see your hard work and R&D resulted in this!

$3,800 is the goal and thats about 85% set in stone. I will be offering an install kit that includes new header head studs and nuts. along with gaskets. My Picing from the MBZ dealer may not be the best so I think the customer should have the option to seek out the best price on that small stuff.
We will also include a quick little installation guide that shows the tools we used to install the headers. and some tips that might save the installer some time. In turn saving you guys labor fees.

I'm not sure about Hiflow cat and their sound as we did not test with them. I will. Ask the guys at the shop what the estimated install time is.

I dont think this guy will be racing at the track, He kinda not that type of guy. We might get it for a track run though, for some further testing.

I've got the Renntech stage 2 tune, but had it installed before taking delivery of the car so I can't give a before/after dyno comparison, but based on threads I've read, I think 50 whp sounds about right for the tune. Now I need to get the additional 50 whp your LTs provide.

I try to stay away from the tuning aspect of things. i love hardware so thats were i stay. I think its safe to say the AFR's after installing a set of long tubes is well with in a functional range for a car.
