Low dust brake pads?
Has anyone replaced their OEM brake pads with a low dust brake pad version? I've done this before with previous European sport sedans and it makes a huge difference with the amount of dust accumulation on the wheels- reduces the need to wash the car as often. I've done a little research and it seems that the only manufacturer that offers low dust pads for the C63 is the EBC Redstuff Low Dust Superstreet pad. Has anyone used low dust pads from another manufacturer? Any experience with the EBC Redstuff Low Dust Superstreet pads?

I read somewhere that these pads generally eat up your rotors... Was here, just do not remember the thread.
Also, in general, when you have two things coming into contact with high friction values, one or the other has to give. softer pads with more wear and dust, less wear on rotors, and vice versa.

I heard and read about owners using porterfield's RS4 pads, their described as a rotor friendly pad with great bite and little to no dust. I didn't realize that EBC made pads for the 6 pot calipers. I haven't experienced th dust as yet, on my C63 but my E63 kicks out quite the dust after a week of driving. I have used mintex on my Bimmers in the past, not sure if they make pads for Mercedes.

I highly recommend against EBC redstuff pads.
This is one of many threads on how bad they are.

Akebono's have worked well for me, but that was on my w203 C350 (uses C32/C55 brakes). Seems like some of the w211 AMG guys liked them too. They are very, very low dust.
Pretty much anything BESIDES EBC. I would rather use 2 blocks of wood than use EBC pads again.

Akebono's are great but I don't think they are offered on the c63. I recently switched from the Poterfield's and I didn't have a good experience with them. I had very bad squeaking...

I have Hawk perf ceramics on my Clk55 and love them. Less dust, gentle on rotors, lasts a long time and have very good bite. I dont know why they dont make them for the C63?

Two sponsors come to mind for Porterfield pads.

Thank you Mort
I usually always have a car set or two in stock.
Yes they will work perfectly with your OEM Rotors.
And for fluid I would recommend Motul RBF600 for street use or RBF660 for street/track.
Always a good idea to upgrade to stainless lines if you are flushing the fluid as well.
Let me know if you would like me to PM or email you some package pricing.

i brought up the topic of red stuff on here a couple of years ago and got bashed. lol. but i will say i had used them on my C43 with no problems. and yes, they are very low dusting and didn't seem to eat away at the rotors much more than stock pads.

I use those for my VW Touareg and they're pretty good. Must say initial bite isn't as good as my stock pads but after that, they work great. Low dust and no noise so far

I'm currently using the the Porterfield R4S pads right now and they are great, easy on the rotors and very low dust. I let my car go for two weeks without washing them and they were still relatively dust free. As for sqeeling, I did have a little before I bed them in, about 7-8 hard stops from 100km down to 20km and the sqeel dissappears.
