Sacramento Raceway would maybe be another good option because it is hardly ever crowded and you can get a few runs in. It's only downfall is track prep, which is easily overcome with MT or hoosiers though

They both have about the same elevation but Infineon usually experiences more head wind (sometimes cross winds) which tend to slow it down a bit. More important though is the fact that at Infineon, you will not be able to make too many runs: maybe 2 to 3 for the whole night. It is usually always crowded. Don't get me wrong, Infineon is a much bigger, much better, and much more maintained and up-kept track than Sacramento ever will be, but it's just always crowded. At Sacramento, you can run as many times as you want. They're only downfall is track prep tends to be horrible for street tires. And I mean really freakin bad....

Track speeds at Sacramento have been a little controversial around here. You can probably read more about it in the W211 section across a few threads. Basically, since the big accident at Sacramento a couple of years ago, they apparently had to re-set their measuring equipment for the trap speeds and it is said that they've set the beams closer together than they "should" be, which as a result, ends up reading 2 to 3 mph higher than they should. This has been verified by different members cars and by VBox data. However, NHRA still runs big events there and they don't seem to have a problem with it, so hey.... we won't mind the extra boost either

Very interesting information. Why did they have to reset the beams because of the accident? Sorry, I don't know about the accident.

Not sure if it's that simple but I like loading it up!?! Takes some practice to get it down just make sure you nail the gas a split second before letting the brake go

Sorry, I was part of the derailing process and I sincerely apologize to the OP for what happened. It is always interesting to exchange ideas and points of views with so many people that we sometimes forget the purpose of the thread.

I think we all need to keep in mind that as 60 foot times drop along with ETs so does trap speed. Running a 121 trap at 11.8 is not the same as running the same trap at 11.3.

Not a knock on anyone just something else for us all to consider as we prepare for fall MADNESS!

Basically that it's a lot harder to run these ETs and traps than most seem to think. It's not an automatic or given just because someone else was able to do it with different parts. A 11.3 @ 121 is more impressive than an 11.8@121, because when the 11.8 car hooks MPH is going to drop. Whereas if the 11.3 car spins it's going to go up.

I hope some records go down. Remember guys, regardless
of the tune, we are all trying for the same thing, to advance
the 63 platform.

Also, keep in mind the track can be a heartbreaker. Every
car I've ever owned always felt faster on the street but
the track was a different story.

I'm trying to think of what your saying pretty much if I understand your saying since I run drags all the time my mph will be lower then someone that's on street tires! This is true or even if u spin the dr's it goes up my highest trap was almost 125 with an 11.7 it spun for the first 50' cause as (dads) pointed out to me.. I forgot to lower the pressure in the tires.. I was excited.. Haha
