CHEAP WEIGHT SAVINGS!!!!

LIGHTWEIGHT BATTERY

We are putting together an order for some Braille lightweight battery's right now. We put one of these in Dodgers car the end of last year and we saved over 45lbs. by just doing this. You will not find an easier, cheaper and less invasive way to shave off that kind of weight. If your car was going 11.2 in the quarter you can change the battery and you should go 11.15 (equals about a half a car length in the 1/4) after you install this lightweight unit. Is there a cheaper and easier way to shave 1/2 a tenth of your time?

The Braille battery that we use easily fits in the car, the positive and negative terminals are in the correct locations and you don't need to modify anything with the factory parts to make it work. It is easily installed with basic tools and we can offer it with a mount kit if you like and we can also offer you a nice little trickle charger to keep your battery happy and ready to go during downtime.

Braille Mercedes lightweight battery - $168.00 on sale for $159.00

Billet aluminum mount kit - 98.00

2 amp trickle charger - $88.00
10 amp rapid charger - $129.00

We have this unit in Dodgers car with the mount kit at all, it was a very simple solution to secure the battery without any special mounts. If you are going to the Maryland race on February 18th I can bring the battery and anything else you need with me.

If you have any questions or you just want to place an order, please feel free to PM me or give me a call.

-Craig

I've been meaning to get one of these. It's such a no-brainer weight savings mod, and yet I keep forgetting to get one.

RPM, the battery mounts fine in the car without your billet mount, or is the billet mount necessary for proper fitment.

Thank you for this thread.

Wow! 45lbs is a huge savings.

I'm assuming this battery is not recommended for a daily driver?

How easy is it to swap in and out for track days?

I have mine just sitting in there it's like the perfect size were the terminal wires hold it tight.. I am going to get the bracket though it makes a nice finished look and adds nothing to the weight maybe a pound and u need it for a tech inspection anyway

I've had it in my car for about 6 months leaving it in the garage for a week or more at a time with no problems even with this bitter cold winter

Have you needed to use the trickle or rapid charger? I remember you said not to run electronics with the car off for very long.

HUGE!!! Especially for such a simple mod. I would not recommend it for a daily driver because it just does have the reserve needed if you leave a light on or something like that. It is extremely easy to swap out, the same basic tools that you need if you were to just change your stock battery.

Thank you for this thread.
The billet mount or some type of similar mount is needed to really securely fit the battery. We made a basic mount to hold Mikes in the car but I don't think he even uses that now. It doesn't require you to change battery cables or anything like that, it's a very simple and easy install.

I think I will work on a mount specifically for the Benz in a couple of weeks, the key for me making it will be to keep the weight of the mount to a minimum.

Now's your chance to not keep forgetting about ordering one. Just give me your info. and I will get one ordered and to you.

Thanks-

If you are going to let it site for a long period I would get the trickle charger. The battery has a sitting shelf life of 6 months until it needs a charge.

There are so many options on their website, I was just curious of the tech specs..I could probably figure out based on the price, but I would like to use as my daily driver, so concerned about the amp/hr rating, CCA, etc..

I will be honest with you. If you are going to use any of these as a battery for your daily driver be prepared to jump your car at some point (probably at an inconvenient time) because the reserve capacity is low on these battery's. It will easily start the car, easily run all the electronics but leave your interior light on by accident, your toast.

Kk. When I get mine I'll post it up Btw I dont think it's a good idea to run this battery for DD unless you do alot of street racing then you should get the lithium ones they like 4-5 lbs but 1500 smackaronies.

Lithium is not necc. This battery is great weighs 45lbs less starts it in 0 degree weather perfect., drop the extra 1200 on a carbon hood it'll look better and save more weigh the the difference.. There are many other good ways to spend that 1200 then the battery. You could almost have evo rotors or forgestar wheels!!

Great weight savings for track days or a day at the autobahn. This and the spare removal can save you about 100lb's. Thats huge.

Close but not quite 100.

Spare tire, Jack, Styrofoam Pad and First Aid Kit = 39.50 lbs.
Rear Headrests (All 3 Combined) = 4.51 lbs.
