I don't have one myself but many seem to favor Kleemann and Eurocharged. I guess P31 is one of the most common tunes on this forum, although dyno's and tests have shown that a regular tune and the P31 are quite equal performance wise.

Eurocharged and Kleemann are the most popular, both provide great results, so whichever one you choose, you will not be dissappointed, and both provide great customer service.

At the moment I would go with Powerchip - their tune is on "sale" for $500 and the gains are comparable with other tuners.

If money is not a big issue, go either with MHP V3 tune or OE Tuning. Both seem to squeeze the most power of the M156.

On the C63 you really can't go wrong, since a lot of that is "de-restricting" what's already been built into the car. The main thing to consider is where you will go from there - if you want to add headers, airbox, etc. later, or race gas/track files down the road, you want to start that relationship now with a shop that'll be there to support you down the road.

Some shops (like Speedriven - *ahem*) offer a software subscription, rather than a simple tune, so as you add variables like headers, exhaust, etc. down the road, you won't have to re-buy files. Other shops do that as well, but the main thing is to ask if the tuning stops with "just" an ECU tune. If it does, you can't really go wrong - just make sure you won't have to buy twice and avoid "custom dyno tunes". Those are typically "ragged edge" tunes and - at the end of the day - YOU are the R&D program for that custom file ...

... either that or it's not really custom.

A few years ago, they associated themselves with some very shady people. This doesn't seem to be the case anymore, and they seem to be legit - but you know how it is: you only get 1 chance to make a first impression.

Keep in mind, also, the guys who are unhappy make 10x the noise the happy guys tend to make.

LOL... is this the start of a troll thread?

MHP is not a sponsor on this site. This is why there is drama. A falling out with this site and the MHP company.

MHP is a legit company and a good tune. They just cost more than the competition tunes. The cost was acceptable to many because they always had the top numbers on the track. They still do except for one , but other tunes are proving themselves as well and they cost 1/3 the price.

Go with the company you feel comfortable with. You cant go wrong tuning the C63 with any company. In my opinion Jeremy from OE tuning and Andy from MHP are the two best choices if you want the most out of the C63 and you plan to track it. Other tunes will feel just as good on the street and cost even less then both those tunes. If you care about shaving 10th's in the 1/4 mile then the above 2 are your only choice. If you dont plan on tracking then you have more options.

You are in the United States. dont go for any special offer cheap tunes. you got a hell of a beast, and you need a hell of a tune that will ignite the monster in your engine. Dont worry about the price too much. Trust me, a good tune will make you comfortable no matter how much you pay for it. Your C63 needs to be remapped in the best possible manner with higher octane mapping, better shift points, ignition, reduction in time delay, improving air-fuel ratio, tourqu elimination,...... If you were in Germany, I would tell you to go with MKB, PP-performance or Vath. You are lucky that you are in the US and that you have modernhorsepower. Get a hold of Andy (He responds quickly). Dont give your ECU to anybody but MHP, and you will be satisfied, I gurantee it

I have to disagree with this one. Dont go for cheap tunes? I can't justify paying more than 1k for a MAIL IN flash, if you have the money then go for it. Not everyone in the US drives SL or SLS. We tend to go for affortable tunes with decent power. No matter how much you pay for it? are you kidding me? I'm sure MHP tunes are fast and it has been proven. The 1/4 list has one trapping 117mph with just a tune. My car full weight on a hot day did 115-116mph with just a "cheap tune". I paid $750 for my tune. I saved about $1200 from the MHP. That money can go to my other mods such as DRs and headers. I also get a free reflash for life. You dont need to have it tuned for higher octane, unless you have the money to run around with race gas all day. The other option would be to have two maps tuned and switch it with a laptop. One for race and want for pump. Not sure how you would do it with the C motor but I have done it for my other cars. Once my headers and DRs come in. I'll post up my "cheap tune" result
