So I went to get an oil change (2nd oil change in 5000 miles) and the service A light is on.

My service guy, nice guy, didn't mention anything about Service A and that the light will not be turned off unless it is a bonified SERVICE A job and costing $210.

I figured Service A is basically and oil change and that because I always bring my vehicles to them and even pay them to change out my tires, they would do the oil change and turn off the in dash warning.

So they did the oil change, charged me $119 and didn't turn off my dash warning.

Basically I have to pay another $80 and go back in for them to do a quick peek and turn the warning off???

What should I do and what are my alternatives? Just wait till service B?

You can try resetting it yourself.

You shouldn't be driving back period! Especially, not for an oil change.

I've done it myself too, both Service A and B. IMO, as long as you are changing your oil each 5k miles (Full Synthetic) and your Transmission fluid once a while, you're good.

After a broken engiene cover by the dealer, I learned to take it off before going for service. I recommend this to all since we are talking about service A.

Dealer did replace it without question though.

I just leave the cover off permanently. I've dropped those damn clips too many times...

These guys can't change their own tranny oil because MB made it near impossible. You have to fill through the drain opening. At 30C.

To really learn about your car, you need to perform your own maintenance. I have performed every service, on both AMGs, except for the Transmission Service, I'll leave that to the experts. I really enjoy getting greasy and dirty. I know that some people just aren't wrench turners, and that's okay. Besides, doing it yourself is a get way to save butt loads of money. I also use the dealers 25 point inspection service to inform me what maintenance is needed, besides from my own maintenance tracking.
