a pair of cheap wheels that will fit on the rears?
i'm curious if anyone knows of some fairly cheap wheels that would fit on the rears other than the stock 18s... just to slap on some DRs for the track...
or perhaps know of wheels from another car that would fit the c63 rears... so it would be easier to shop for some used wheels...
or what specs should i be concerned about so they fit on the rear but wide enough for some DRs

i've got a friend with some e55 wheels... although they are a little damaged, but i'm sure they can be fixed...
will these fit on the c63 or can they be modified to fit?

i did some searching and found out that the e55 wheels will fit... although they protrude out a little bit... i think it'll be fine for just a drag set up...
now the question is, what size drag radials would work?

that's not a bad price... thanks... i'm going to try the e55 wheels first since my friend is willing to just give them to me... and it's much less of an investment...

The Nitto's are much wider than the M/T's.

i'm wondering if the 265 is wide enough... i just don't want it to be too tall so there will be no chance of rubbing...

It was hard to find wheels for the C63. I wanted some for winter and finally setled on ENKEI GTC-01s . They are real stunners and a flaming bargain @1/3 the MB price. Paid $350 a couple years back. The problem I see is with the caliper clearance on most wheels. I notice gravel scratches where ( I believe ) back road gravel is temporarily trapped and "rolled" off the surfaces of the caliper top and inner wheel.

There is a member on here that has DRs and rear 18s for 1000..
I found some CCW 17s. http://www.ccwheel.com/wheelprofiles...php?id=Classic
They are 500 each, for the rear. The good thing about a 17 is obviously its lighter, but the tires are like 200 a side cheaper. You can also get a longer sidewall, so more flex in the sidewall, which is good for the drags...
Ill be getting some of these in the spring for 1/4mile and drift practices.. 275/40/17 was almost identical in diameter to 275/30/19, btw.

Blluejae, They are 18's . Go to tire rack and type in your specs for winter. I believe the GTC-01 will come up. Good luck . My most recent experience with tire rack was not good. Hang up by a sales person after receipt and subsequent promise by mgt but no call back. motoman (but the wheels are pretty and no problems in two winters.)

i'm assuming as long as the offset works, then the wheel should fit right?
of these choices... which would fit or not fit on the rears...
my plan is to keep my stock fronts and switch out the rears with one of these size options for the strip... and be able to fit some MT ET streets on them...
17x7.5 et45
17x7.5 et50
17x8 et50
18x8 et45
18x8.5 et42
18x8 et50
19x8 et50
19x9 et50
19x9.5 et45

If you are doing this for quicker times you need lighter wheels and tires all the way around. The Forgestars are MUCH lighter than the stock front and rear and will help with rotating mass weight reduction. Contact HHughes1, he's selling his Forgestars right now since he sold his car.

i just need some assistance in finding out if any of the sizes i've listed in post #16 would fit on the car
i also want to save from buying a full set of wheels until i'm ready to buy a set i really like... and a possible wide body option for the rears... i don't want to buy a set now... and find that i can go wider later on... but who knows... i'm happy with my current set up and was just looking to try out some drag radials on the strip
