4th SERVICE BO @ 40k miles or 60k km what needs to be done, and how much $$$

Hi guys,

I have a 2009 c63 without perf. pack.

I'm due for my 4th service (BO in the instrument cluster) i'm at 58 000km or around 40 000 miles and have had the car for 44 month.

The dealer said that I needed Service B (550$ + tax can ) plus a transmission oil change (359$ can plus tax).

I decided to look in the service booklet to see exactly what is recommended. I had a few suprises. In short this is what I found;

The combination filter(cabin filter) should be changed every 2 years. I think that's included in service B

The brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years! I don't think this has been done yet. I think the did a brake service at my first service B but I don't think they changed the brake fluid...or did they?

If you have the PP you should change the LSD oil at 60000km or 40 000miles.

The engine air filter according to the service booklet should be changed every 60 000km or 40k miles. I think mine has been changed one or twice if not every service. I think every 2 year at the most is wise on a C63.

Now this suprised me : spark plug change at 4 years or 100 000km or 60 000miles.

And auto trans oil change once at 60 000km or 40 000miles.

So if I do what is recommended IN THE BOOKLET I would:
change motor oil
change cabin filter
change motor air filter
change brake fluid
change spark plugs
change transmission oil.

So did any of you do your fourth service yet?
Did you change your plugs, auto trans oil, brake fluid?
How much did you pay?

my wife bananas! :D
most of them are standard maintenance procedure for all benz not just the c63

for example, the transmission oil change is programmed (code 20) at 60k kms and the price you were quoted is actually cheaper than my local dealer

Congrats on reading the manual rather than relying on a computer or your dealer.

Have the dealer do the transmission and break fluid. The rest you can do yourself very easily. I have a DIY you can find on changing the spark plugs. This would include the engine air filters.

I also have a DIY on the LSD, although it is a little brief. Good info on the change interval. My E did not show this

No reason to change the plugs early.

Edit: Checked my maintenance manual. Only shows a single tranny oil change at 39k, but I know it is now recommended every 40k. Nothing on the LSD.

Would you go to owners online and download the maint manual and then post as an attachment?

Except for the tranny, you can do almost all of that yourself, and for alot less.. If you are that way inclined (I am a very DIY oriented individual).

I do all of it myself, it is very soothing, similar to when I detail my car.

Brake fluid I did, a $50 pressure bleeder from amazon, and about 2 hours of time (most of that is jacking up and down the car)

I could use some advice, my manual tells me nothing about transmission fluid changes, intervals to be changed, it is an R350 six cylinder mercedes Benz 2007 with 91,00 miles on it and I have had it since 78,000 miles. Since I bought it I have spent Too much money for a battery, air bag shock absorber, roof malfunction, please help.
Thanks

Dealer here in Canada, MB Oakville quoted 450 for a filter and oil change for trans on E63, just drop pan and replace filter refill, approx. 4-5 liters of fluid, when asked about the torque converter he stated they do no do that. 2-3 week appointment necessary just to clean your wallet, ha ha
