C63 as a Collector Car?
I ask this because I recently fell upon a nice super low mileage car. Its a 2013 C63-P31 with the tan Designo Leather package. Ive had it for roughly 15 months now. It currently has < 31k miles.
I didn't buy this car as an investment. It was suddenly there and the owner needed to sell because she bought an Audi Q7. She was about to be a grandmother which forced a change of vehicles. I paid $35k.
Im thoroughly enjoying the car. I have cleaned it up quite well and won twice at the Legends of the Autobahn Concours during Monterey Car Week here in California. I can't say its a keeper because I go through cars often. But I don't think that I will ever get another deal like this.

507's are readily available and the equivalent of a P30 package, just different options at a different point in the lifecycle
Just sayin....
Having said this, I hope your are correct and I am wrong.

507 sedan with 8,000 miles

30 years from now, who knows how many C63's will be around unmolested / un-damaged / repaired etc. These are all big factors as to future classic potential (which i do believe it already is a modern classic)

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
They're under fire for electrifying so late. The government is under fire for not imposing more draconian deadlines.
Now I'm starting to think that there could be something to these cars, those that are Kept original.
As I write this, on this forum, how many are un modified anyway?
Many mods can be reversed of course.
Now If these become investments then it's a whole new world:
So you guys see to what level they go these days with the muscle cars of the 60's?
Matching numbers, history of everything.
In the future: how about history of software reflashes/tunes when the turn of these years comes?
Using the proper nuts and bolts on the exhaust. Orientation of the bolts..
Using only OEM consumables.
And so on
Not sure if anybody has posted this already but this should address the collectorbility, of at least some AMG's.

Anecdotal I know, but I fear, especially with recent legislation, that youth today as they age will want electric and not want those loud smelly gas things.
Times change and less people will want these... that minority that do will want the real exclusives.

So will these be in an antiseptic-electric future...
And the W126 can growl, bark and roar with the best out there.
Electric cars are already faster than any gasoline cars, the culture is what remains.

Also lol @ thinking a 507 is any different than a P31 with an appearance package

To each their own; personal choice; thought they did a good job in the day.

I honestly feel I would be hard pressed to find another muscle car sedan like the W204 that also gives luxurious comfort to boot.
These cars can be tastefully modified and still maintain its value. For the suspension as long as it’s not slammed to the ground and handling is improved I’m sure it’ll keep its value or even raise it (remember the c63 black series has KW suspension). The transmission is something you’ll be stuck with. DSG of the day has got this car beat hands down.
