XKR-S vs C63
The dealer is offering me a deal of 82k on a new French blue one and I understand there are faster cars available in that price range but none as rare as this one. I have never seen one of these cars on the road or at local meets so I would like everybody's input , are they not on the road for a reliability reason or is it just that for the normal 132k MSRP ppl opt for a better all around car?
Thanks
The thing I love the move about this car is also my biggest worry. Why don't I ever see one one the road? How can ppl pass up a vehicle like this? There has to be something I don't know about this vehicle
Depending on where you're located, Jag dealerships are also far and few. You're pretty much at the mercy of that one dealership in town (if there is one in your area) for any repair/warranty work. Jags also don't have one of the best reputation for reliability, especially their electrical components.
With all that being said, I am still a huge fan of the XKR-S!

I do think however, you should study the 2ndary markets. from what i gather, for jags, you take a pretty huge financial hit on the resale. but if you are getting it for like 50k off, you have a lot of room to move before you get dinged too much.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
IMO it's in a different league than the C63...interior...active diff...supercharged (and tunable to over 600hp).
The depreciation has been taken care of in the $50k discount
I am looking ahead as I hear a lot of problems come up with the 08/09 C63's so my logic was.
A. New car new warranty
B. Still same or arguably better performance
C. So much under the 132k msrp that I could flip in a couple yrs and not be upside down
D. Although performance is not 132k worthy it is still very rare than the normal car in the
80k price range such as GTR, RS5, 911 etc etc
I have had the opportunity of buying a 2011 xjl which was owner driven at Jaguar of Pasadena, los angeles.
I would say a few things based on my experience.
A. New car new warranty - Please confirm the exact "remaining" warranty both in terms of the miles and time frame.
B. Still same or arguably better performance - Possibly better performance - agree on that. However, some folks might think stock P31 C63 is better
C. So much under the 132k msrp that I could flip in a couple yrs and not be upside down - Please don't count on that. If you buy it for 82k + tax, at the end of 2 yrs from now, you might end up selling that car at 60 + tax. Again, I could (hopefully) be wrong in case the car ends up rare enough and you find the right buyer for the french racing blue.
D. Although performance is not 132k worthy it is still very rare than the normal car in the 80k price range such as GTR, RS5, 911 etc etc - Again debatable, but yes, if you look at 50k off $135k, then you're ahead, atleast for some time.
The XKR-S is definitely a rare car and driving it down the street will attract attention regardless if people know what it is or not (especially in that Blue); more of a show/collector's car.
The C63 on the other hand "looks" more common, and will mainly be recognized by people who know what it is. And it's a practical-use car.
If you use your C63 on a daily basis, I would keep it. I can't imagine the XKR-S being a very friendly daily driver's car. It's more of a grand-tourer car, IMO.
And there are definitely WAY betters cars to get for that price range. Just my $0.02.

EDIT: I would even look into GT-Rs or M6's. If you're willing to give up some performance, why not try something like the Audi A8, BMW's 760Li, Lexus' 460L, etc.
Sorry for not having better suggestions, but as a college graduate of only 2 years, your price range for cars isn't typically on my radar. :P

However, you are not likely to see another one next to you at the light. I see one to two C63 everyday.

But, the car just had zero feel to it. I was completely surprised how disconnected from the steering I felt, given that the car was supposed to be Jag's attempt to combat the super high performance coupes that have been coming out. It was incredibly soft; too soft for the level of performance it is supposed to achieve. Though the car shifted pretty quickly, i wasnt an overly huge fan of the transmission overall.
Ultimately, the C Black won out in the end because it just felt so much more raw and aggressive, while the Jag just felt too refined and soft for my liking, even as a daily driver.
Performance overall: gtr>xkrs>c63>rs5
Straight line speed(highway speeds) : xkr-s>gtr>c63>rs5
Everyday drivability/well roundedness: rs5>xkr-s>c63>gtr
If I could only have 1: xkr-s>rs5>gtr>c63
These are just my opinions obviously, but just giving perspective from testing them all out.
