2015 W205 C63: articles, facts, specifications. Rumors: 5.5L V8 TT, M157, 4matic, DCT
Ive been considering upgrading to 19' wheels. What are you running?
I think the MCT will be gone, esp. if the lower model now has a full DCT.

I'm running 19" HRE P47, staggered with 245/35 and 275/30 Michelin PSS. With the P30 and this tire/wheel combo, I can get power down and it stays planted in the twisties...
Hope that helps...
If its your daily driver I wouldn't get anything harsher than stock, thats just my opinion and I guess as better stuff is coming out I realize the C63 is showing its age and its making me more jaded towards the car, I used to love it an hopefully the new C63 will rejuvenate my passion, just hard to see lesser cars getting better stuff and all I have to say is well I have 500+hp and its faster.

I wouldn't rule out AWD yet. It seems to change with the wind. The article below makes it sound very possible considering they built a prototype. I guess time will tell!

The Audi S6 and S7 have a dual clutch transmission.
Only the RS7 gets a torque converter.
The lack of a DCT in a RS7 is why I will never buy one.
I'd simply turn up the boost on a S6 and keep the DCT and save $30k.
Did you even read my first post in this thread that I started ?????

AMG is absolutely doing a AWD C63.
AMG would NOT build a AWD C63, and it would not be the current personal daily driver of a top executive, if they weren't going to do a AWD C63.

My favorite article so far:
Mercedes C63 AMG
Our photographers have also spotted the new C63 AMG testing ahead of its 2014 release date. The images in our gallery show it sporting bigger, chunkier bumpers, large alloy wheels and twin exhaust housings at the rear.
Unlike the present car, with its 6.3-litre V8, the new C63 will be powered by a more efficient 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8. It is expected to have the same 518bhp output as the E63 and CLS 63, which also use the newer turbocharged engine. That’s a jump of 67bhp.
It will also have the same AMG-tuned seven-speed MCT automatic transmission, which along with retuned adaptive suspension, stronger brakes and less weight should help it improve on the current C63 AMG’s 4.5-second 0-62mph time, while using less fuel.
Meanwhile, a four-wheel drive C63 AMG is considered. AMG’s senior powertrain engineering manager, Dr Jorg Gindele said: “Yes, a C63 is possible. There is one car already [a prototype at AMG's headquarters in Affalterbach, Germany]. I know this because it’s my car!”

- 4.0TT (with cylinder deactivation), essentially two C45 AMGs in a V configuration.
- twin scroll single turbo in the center of the V. (Aka "Hot-V" as they are called). Far simpler packaging and limits max potential power. Less weight of course too.
- Most likely, be the exact same Borg Warner B03 twin scroll turbo used in the C45 AMG just running a lot less boost since it is larger displacement and only 450hp stock.
- running the identical 4matic off the C45 using the new super lightweight "PTU" transfer case built into the DCT transmission but in reverse order (rear bias instead of FWD bias).
- 200lbs lighter
- DCT makes more sense given its use in the C45 AMG. MCT was merely a transitional transmission until Benz could finally develop their own DCT in house (Benz hates using outside manufacturers for transmissions). MCT will be phased out soon
They may do a twin setup in the hot-V configuration, but 90% above will be the final specs. Remember, they need to increase fuel efficiency in just 2-3 years to much higher levels so it makes sense for them downsize + cylinder deactivation (which by the way would essentially be identical to C45 AMG when running on 4 cylinders).
Just watch...

they make a RWD DCT that can do ~515 lb ft (think M5)
they make an transaxle version that will handle ~550 lb ft (not sure what it is used in, guessing Ferrari, etc., it's good to 9500 rpm)
there is no AWD version that can handle the S8/RS7 >470 lb ft, hence the autos

trannies are rated by torque, not power
eg, Getrag 7DCL750, 750 = Nm = ~ 515 lb ft of torque (German: torque = Drehmoment, which I think is rotating force/moment)
power is meaningless without knowing rpm, and at that point all it allows you to do is calculate torque (a primary, instantaneous variable, a FORCE about a moment), power is little more than the rate of application/delivery of torque

Neither you, nor me, nor anyone on this Forum, knows what the "New" C63 will be, no matter how much you want it.
Some people on here will swear the car will have a 4.0TT?....,and they are just as "confident" as you are?
AFAIAC, it is all speculation.
Pickles.

Please, stop posting, step away from your computer, and turn in your "man card".
I NEVER want to hear any "single turbo" nonsense again from anyone.
