Saw this yesterday, pretty sad that the whole situation came down to what happened but the guy in the Range did what he had to do to protect his family.

GTA 5!!

On a side note, I had a biker chase me down in my smart last time. I called 911 but they told me to stop and wait for the cops but the guy was 300 lbs scary and had something in his hand to smash my window. I brake checked him, and he ended up rear ending me lol. I drove away.

Seriously dude.. that was not cool, but neither was what the motorcyclist did.

However, no matter who was in the wrong, you just admitted to a felony on on a public forum.

As for the topic, I would have done the same thing. That type of crowd is why my wife won't let me get another bike, as well as why insurance is so damn high.

Not cool if you say so, but it's not about being cool. I called 911, they probably have a recording. He scared the **** out of me and I did what I needed to do to save myself. You never know if the guy is mentally disturbed/dangerous (he seemed like it). I was driving the smart, that thing is slow like a turtle, didn't have any other option. If I was driving the CL, I would've manged to fly without having to do that

And he's the one who rear ended me, following too close.

I think the part that is saving the driver of the RR from arrest is that he was on the phone with 911 the whole time and that these morons posted self incriminating footage on YouTube for everyone to see. The video clearly shows that the bikers were the aggressors by brake checking and swarming the vehicle. These asshats just ruined it for all the other law biding riders out there. For the record, riding without plates makes you an asshat and law breaking citizen!

By his own description of what went down, that's hardly a felony (leaving the scene of an accident I'm sure is what you're referring). This is clearly a state issue all the way (based on how serious it was). Being that it is indeed subjective, the motorcycle dude lived and most likely wasn't even hurt (brake check being a quick stab at the brakes), and given the circumstances that SMART driver was rear ended (not in the wrong whatsoever), SMART driver is free and clear of any wrong doing.

now for the Motorcycle dude, it's a whole another story. He could be charged with a whole myriad of offenses. Reckless Driving being up there, but even more, possibly threatening the life of the SMART driver.

My bad. I missed the 911 part of that rather short comment.. you would have thought I would have caught it.. oh well, at work doing too many things at the same time.

My apologies.. (yes.. sometimes people actually do apologize on the internet.. except I won't admit that to my wife )

I apologized, I missed a part of his comment.

And yes, the inciting cyclist has been arrested.

"Police charged Cruz with reckless endangerment, reckless driving, endangering the welfare of a child, and menacing"

I doubt that dude will be allowed to drive a fisher price tricycle by the time the courts are done with him

Yet another reason I need one of these https://mbworld.org/articles/mercede...-extended-cut/ when driving through urban areas where I can't count on the 507 to out run all the crazy people.

These motorcyclists get out of control when in groups.

When I see them I pull over because inevitably, one of these cavemen always tries to show off and I don't want his body or bike flying into my car when his inferior driving skills give way to gravity and physics.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I was on the belt parkway on saturday and saw a group of bikers speeding in the oncoming lane with a bunch of motorists behind them that had moved to the side or something..

apparently the guy in the Range Rover ran over a second biker and paralyzed him among other things, but if you're going to ride with a bunch of *******s like these you probably should figure out on your own your life expectancy is going to be cut short significantly. I have no sympathy for these bikers.

Yep. There is already a page "calling for justice" of the aforementioned biker. The comments on the page are pretty brutal, if not entertaining.

Man some bikers think they are invincible in their armor consisting of helmets, leather jackets, riding gear and gloves. Put a bunch of those idiots together and something's bound to go wrong. As a motorcycle rider myself, I'm used to cars merging without looking first and almost taking me out but I would never dare brake check a car on my bike especially if the driver's not paying attention. A light tap could send me flying and who knows what other injuries despite all the protective gear I use.

Man I really hope the driver of the SUV gets justice. In a country where civilians are allowed to own guns, it's just ignorant to **** off people around you, especially if you don't know whether that person happens to have a gun in the car with them. I know people who have attached holsters in their cars within easy reach to defend themselves against possible road rage from others.

I remember a similar incident to Guilty's when I passed some guy riding in a tanktop and shorts on his harley. Out of nowhere, he pulls in front of me and proceeds to slam on the brakes causing me to almost send him flying off his bike and almost making the car behind me rear end me. Thankfully the C63 has good brakes. The idiot then proceeds to get behind me and do a passby trying to break my windows or mirrors I'm guessing scaring the ***** out of me and causing me to almost swerve into him which would have ended catastrophically considering he was wearing practically nothing if he had fallen. I just slow down and thankfully now a bunch of cars behind me had seen what happens and were apprehensive about passing and were now following me watching everything unfold but I guess the biker got bored or maybe some common sense and left me alone after that.

Nah!...Similar but I'm thinking more along the line of this to drive through those douchebag bikers:

That's right, an armored G63 AMG 6X6...that's what I call badassery!!! C'mon, let's bring it on!

You come to my window, you better be ready to meet the business end of my Springfield XDs or one of my Glocks. If one of us has to die, it ain't gonna be me. Same deal if you break into my house...

The commentary on that page is hilarious. The fact that they are attempting to proclaim innocence is ridiculous. Their buddies were stupid enough to post the whole footage of that idiot brake checking the range and getting tapped.

When you antagonize and threaten someone and end up getting hurt, you don't get to proclaim innocence or being a victim. It's like taking a gun and pointing it at someone, but you end up losing control of the gun and the victim shoots you with it.

I second this notion down to the detail of preferred weapon of choice. I consider the Springfield XDs to be one of my best purchases when it comes to weaponry.
Having said that, I prefer to see how far the hands can take you if realistic chances are evident. Here, in this case that's not so. Outnumbered and with family, I cant say I fault the RR driver one bit.
