I miss my AMG, buy another?
Hello everyone, again.
After selling my C63 for a 911 Turbo I find myself regretting this decision every single day of my life. Seriously. My 911 would do unforgivable things to my C in the performance department. However, there is just something not right. I also have 2 cars and am paying $1250+ / month on them. The $1250 a month doesn't bother me much right now, but the 2 car thing does. I'd like to have just 1.
Next, I find that my newest car being a 2007 I am missing out on so much new technology in cars. A new Kia has more interior amenities than my Porsche that MSRP's over $100k... I'd rather be cruising around in something that is just nice to be in than something that I know can beat almost any car on the road....
...Am I getting older? Becoming more practical? Being less, fun?...
Who knows.
Anyway, may the fun begin! Help me spend money.
What I'm trading: 2007 Audi RS4 and 2001 Porsche Turbo
The contenders on what to trade for (Sorry, not all MB content):
2013 F10 M5
2013+ Audi S4/S6
2012+ C63
2014 E550 4matic
2014 CLS550 4matic
** Insert something I'm not thinking of **
Also, here are some must haves:
- MUST be 4 door. I don't want an SUV either, just sedans. Nothing long either (S class, 7 series, A8, etc. I have a short garage that couldn't fit a 7 series)
- 2012+. I find that this is really the best year to start looking. For a few reasons, one being financing.
- MUST have a great audio systems. Harmon Kardon, Bose, etc. I like my music and miss the Harmon Kardon my C63 had.
- I'd like to have something with a decent aftermarket market. Meaning, I'd like something I can tune with an exhaust. Also lower it and put it on a set of nice wheels with some light cosmetics. Nothing crazy, just "tasteful" as most say.
- Exhaust note. Now, My C63 had gutted secondary cats and no resonator. I absolutely loved the sound and I realize that not much if anything will beat it. However, other cars out there still sound pretty freakin' good.
- AWD would be nice which is why I'm leaning toward Audi Quattro or 4matic. However, I've driven RWD plenty in the lovely NY snow that we get so RWD isn't the end of the world.
- MPGs, well, if I could have it all then that would be the perfect car. Not too worried here either. The C63 had the best MPG of my past few cars.
Lastly, I realize I listed cars that have quite varying price ranges. Like I said, Right now I'm spending ~$1250/mo and it isn't the end of the world. If I could find something I really liked and spend less then obviously I'd do it. Lets just say for the sake of argument I'd like to spend $75,000 or less.
Open to hear what you all have to say! One thing though, try not to be brand biased. I really like all of them and have had bmw/mb/audi/and porsche at this point. I'd appreciate it if we spoke as though none of these cars had a brand name, just a model, if you get what I mean.
Thanks everyone! Look forward to seeing what ideas come up.

No to Tesla. I don't want to find myself needing to go on a road trip or something and have that as my only car. It would be frustrating trying to travel any sort of significant distance.
Maserati. Didn't think of that. I bet the maintenance is high though. I have a friend at a dealer I'll check them out too.
New M3 -- Going to build and price one right now. I think it is JUST a little bit higher than I'd like to be spending. Also, I'd like to avoid buying brand new. I like used cars with low mileage so I don't have to take the instant huge hit in value.
W205 -- This is interesting. I think that the new model will look a little soft. If I get a c63 it will be a W204. Just a facelift though so I don't have headbolt issues and have a few more options.

I really do like the f-type coupe, but yes, 2 door is a no go. I have 2 pitbulls I take around with me which is why I say no to a 2 door. I also hate convertibles. They never have nearly as nice of lines as coupes and I have no desire to drive with the top down anyways.
Don't they only have the convertibles in the states right now anyway?

What I really wish I could afford is the RS7. I love that thing.

it's been a while since I've searched up late model cls 63's, but how about it? I personally love that car.
I also like the idea of the m5 and 205 c63.

Not against a 2012 cls63 which is in the same neighborhood as the m5 in pricing.
I could also consider the e63. I really like the new body style of the e (2014) but the biturbo starting in 2012 could save me some money and still have some pep.

LOL man! I didn't understand why you sold the C63 in the first place....
As for a new car how about the jaguar 4 doors XFR?

I'm so stupid for selling it. So stupid.
I don't need to go to jail haha.
I think secretly, deep deep down, I've done all this just to plan on getting a facelift c63, save like $500/mo and use that towards guns and car parts. I found a 2012 c63 that is black with the black and red interior relatively close to me. Within a few months I could have some HRE's or ADV's... whatever. Get all the typical CF bits (lip, diffuser, spoiler) and lower it. Boom done.
On the other hand, I could step it up to the e/cls/m5 and have less play money but a beast of a car.
Oh life, I guess it could be worse.

I really want a e63s 4matic. Get one of those.my built is msrp 110000 new, but if you have any trade in value in the two cars you may be able to pull it off at 1250/mo. It has everything you require.
I kept my c63 when I got the gtr last year because I knew I would miss the c.

See, I have traded/sold my cars so frequently over the past 2 years that I end up either losing a little or breaking even. I NEED something that I stay in until it is paid off.
There are some e63s' on the market hovering around 90k right now. Still are going to drop in value.
Or something like this...
Maybe I can try to sell my 911 in the private market. Make a few extra dollars on it and drive the RS4 for a while. Then, when the w205 c comes out I can see what that is like. I'm so tired of the w205 section and how back and forth people are there. I just need the damn thing to come out already.

I can imagine what you are going through, I experienced the same emotions when I sold my BMW a few years back.
Good luck in your search bro. Personally I would say another C63 or E63.

I think my top two contenders at this point are going to be the M5/E63s. If I can't find one of those within my budget then I'll just drop back to a C63 which isn't the end of the world.
I owe more than I can make on my RS4 by a good bit so that is the next hurdle. I can make a few bucks on the Porsche most likely.

There is a sizeable difference in the car from 2009 to 2014, I would get a 507. Perfect size, stands out and has all the tools you are looking for. New interior as well compared to your first one. New front end, 507bhp, go find one!

I second the E63, be a different model, with relatively the same type of power and torque response. However I've heard the E63 is much less agile, but I'd gladly trade that away for the ponies it comes with… Not to mention that the E-class comes with top-notch gadgets and tech that won't become out of date
And what about the new 2014 Jag XFR-S, looks berserk in blue and offers the same addictive exhaust note and power of the AMGs.

There is a XFR in 4 door isn't it? I recall seeing one outside our Range Rover dealership last week when I was down picking up our new Range. That thing looked menacing. I believe it might have been the XFR-S. I don't know much about their engine specs or anything though. I would take a look at that as well OP.

I've looked at a few of the XFR-S'... Again, I think that might be a car that is JUST out of my comfort zone for spending because of the RS4 and the loss I'd take there.
As for the 507... That is tough for me. It comes with some more power which you can get out of a tune anyway. I'd rather get a 2012 C63 for much less, tune it, put wheels on it, lower it, and grab a 507 hood and still pay less than I would for a 507.
Maybe if I can sell the 911 and just drive the RS4 for a year I'd be able to save up a sizeable down payment for the E63/M5 and end up with monthly payments similar to a C. My biggest fear I guess is just that AMG will do something we don't really see coming with the w205 and I'll be kicking myself for not having one of those
