16yo kid that doesn't own eleven cars
So with the purchase of my C63 AMG Black Series Coupe I now own eleven vehicles, and a lot of you have been asking me why the hell I have so many. Well here is my attempt at an explanation
Note: Dead batteries are not as much as of a problem as you would think.. I'm rather obsessive with the maintenance of my car so I swap the batteries out far before they die...
So why do I own so many cars? Three answers.
1. Because I can. 'Nuff said.
2. I get EXTREMELY bored (I'm a retired, married 38 year old who wakes up at 11 AM each morning and goes to bed at 2:15 at night and has ZERO responsibilities all day [except for my wife and kids] and the cars help keep me busy.
3. I have a weird, obsessive compulsive vision of my fleet, where ever car needs to serve some sort of specific role.
4. I am still a teenage boy on the inside
In my completely delusional and b@stardized vision of things, the Ghost is supposed to be my serene, daily driver that pretty much promises me VIP treatment wherever I go. For a very long time I've been thinking about converting it to a faux taxi and picking up people JUST so I can see their reaction (too much time on my hands, I know).
I hate my Q7. HATE IT WITH A PASSION. The Q7 is for family road trips that will probably never happen, and for natural disasters that will never occur (I'm going to replace it with something far more impractical and exciting, with awesome offroad capability soon... AKA the G65 AMG which will soon be on sale here in America...
The SRT Viper GTS is supposed to be my wild and raucous supercar for when I feel too cottled from all my luxury vehicles, sometimes it's a little soft for me (do to its GTS guise) so I take the '91 Viper out of storage (an understeering piece of crap) and torture myself for however long I decide to drive it.
The CL63 AMG is a car I bought to work on with my son, due to its massive depreciation (explanation I told my wife; In reality I just prefer the look of the pre-face lift CL)... So far we've got it new rims and blacked it out. I wish I had gotten the 65 though...
The C63 AMG Black Series Coupe is a car I have absolutely no reason to own, my justification to myself is that I was missing a "small, performance coupe" (lol wtf?)
I saw it on EBAY one day and just bought it on a whim (so nice being able to do that). Still waiting for it to arrive... But I've only heard rave reviews...
The Bentley Continental SS is for "serene Sunday top down cruising" (once you retire, everyday begins to feel like Sunday). which is not quite accurate as it is kind of a rough rider and feels a bit raw at times. Still it has a ton of character, and I enjoy driving it despite the massive curb weight. Still wish it were a bit lighter though...
Now for the cars in storage... About ten years ago I bought an empty 4000 square foot warehouse that I converted to a mega garage... It has new floors, new paint, new lighting and is covered in car related crap. That's where I put all the cars I'm not quite ready to sell, and maybe sometime in the future I'll put a car collection of some sorts together and store it there...
Well... There's my completely ridiculous and illogical explanation, and believe it or not, I'm still on the hunt for new cars ... Hope reading this doesn't make you feel too ill of me...

That's a great passion (addiction?) for fine autos you have! So let me get this right. If this is your full time job, I want your job, haha. I'd like to hear a little about the Ferrari or 2...

I think the being retired at 38 part is what's causing the problem. The idle mind is the devils playground. Like when one being bored with smoking cigarettes leads to marijuana, leads to coke, leads to ecxtasy, leads to cocaine, leads to LSD, leads to crystal meth, leads to heroine, leads to krocodile...
then your dead.
then your dead.

What is the purpose of this thread?
Are you saying your life is difficult due to the number of cars you have or that because you have $$$ and people want it?
It's the same for everyone: the WORLD is trying to seperate them from their $$$
Sounds like you extracted your share
If you made money someone lost some, it's not created out of thin air
Just moved/transferred around
Are people giving you crap over the number of cars you own?
Your family?
Who cares, why do you?
Guilt? Justification?
This is just plain weird
Like whining because my 'johnson' is too big lol

Do you work or not?
" A few weeks ago, while I was hustling down a winding road on my way to work, I decided my 5,000 pound Rolls Royce Ghost daily driver was not sporty enough. Though fun at times, the British bruiser often feels confused when driven hard and for some strange, unbeknownst reason makes me feel guilty when I corner too aggressively in it. It was then I decided that I needed another car to share everyday driving duties with the Ghost.
This vehicle needs to be perfect. I can fit a maximum of six vehicles in my garage, so this one has to be the car that fills all the holes in my current lineup.
This is what I'm looking for:
-no more than 350k
-can be used to carry a reasonable amount of luggage
-sporty
-everyday driving capabilities
-exciting and eye catching design
The three cars that immediately came to mind for me were the E63 AMG / CLS63 AMG, Audi RS7, and the Aston Martin Rapide. Can anyone think of any better picks? "
