Quote: It's getting done today, I do not believe they need to read the data from the old one. STAR didn't mention anything other then connecting to dealer network and registering it to the VIN.

I will call and ask Serge if that is the case, hopefully not since my mechanic removed the old one before driving it down lol.

I don't know about re-coding a used one I bought brand new from dealer.
Sweet, thanks for checking. I may nab one from the US (way cheaper than here) and keep it in inventory if swapping it in before it's coded works.

Yeah ~ 20kph if it's a module fault or wheel speed sensor fault.

I'm willing to bet it's probably repairable.

This error just came up on me again today. It happened 2 months ago, went away after a few days, and just returned today on a '11 with 38k miles.

How did re-coding your new module go? How much did you pay for your new module?

I'm definitely trying to avoid forking $2k over to the dealership. Thanks!

I just received my first ABS/EBR/ESP inoperative after a 5 minute drive. restarted the car and the errors popped up again.
Left it for 30 minutes and I cant reproduce the error
I did notice something very odd when I started the car the first time this morning, when I released the hand brake and put it into gear, the car would not move. felt like the wheels were stuck despite stepping on the gas pedal.
However I was able to move off after restarting the car.
Perhaps thats related?

UGH 2016 CLS550 with bad ESP module. No ABS lights, no limping or anything OTHER THAN a check engine light and on my cheap *** scanner i get a U0121 code. Took it to the shop and they said yes ESP module. Damn near $2000 to replace here in California. Cant do a used one because they are married to the car so it MUST be a new one. I can purchase one from online dealer for $900 at Sangeraparts.com and put it in myself but still gonna have to have it programmed. I WISH there were some place that repairs these phucin things.

Yeah I tried them before I even posted this and they got back to me just a little while ago, they dont service mine. I am sure I going to have to purchase from the dealer at highway robbery prices.

Really? They list our part number in the reference section. What did they say exactly?

That's disappointing.

Spoke with Ashley Irvine,
Said per our conversation she spoke with a tech and they said in regards to my module they can not repair it. I am gonna take it apart and see if I can do it myself and if not no harm no foul as am prepared for the worst anyway. I cant find a single place that fixes these for the W218.

If this is for a 2016 cls550, shouldn't it still be under warranty?

I typed in ABS/ESC module and the forum brings up everything related to both so I never saw the dedicated car forum.

hi guys,

I work at mercedes-benz dealer as a tech and this problem happened to my 2009 c63... It was EPS,ABS,EPC light and no more power steering. I was after a intake manifold gasket job and pcv .. So, I scanned the car and only 1 code was ther : EPS Control unit internal fault (dont remember the code number) and when a erease it , and start the car , all light was away on powersteering back but after like 1 miles , all lights come on and no more power steering.

So , i went to the shop and use the Star xentry scanner and try to just erease it but did nt work. Old tech at my job said : you need to replace your eps unit , so i didnt want to spend all this money for a f****** unit crash. I took the scanner and only do a Control Unit Initial Start up( You need to do this when you replace the unit) before replace anything. And after 30minutes of coding , it bring back alive the unit. no more lights !

so try this at your local mb dealer sorry for my bad english i'm french lol
