New to C63s. Looking for advice/little more power.

Hey everyone. I Just bought a 2012 C63 coupe. I have been looking for about a year and finally was able to get one. It is an amazing car. I come from a big horsepower background so, but being very unfamilar on what to do to make more power out of these things.
I'm looking for a reliable way like an ecu tune if that's possible. You guys are the experts here. What should I do to try and get another 50hp or so. What's the best and lest pricy way to go about this?
Thanks in advance everyone. Glad to be here.

Mike

I already know what some people will say is use the search function. Get a tune from eurocharged or oe eurocharge seems to be very popular and they have a sale on handhelds right now. That should bump you 50 wheel or so then you could do row air boxes with filters, headers, potentially second car deleate to x pipe or h pipe that is good for 450-480 wheel depending

Haha +1 on the search function. Congrats on the purchase though Mazspeed I will help make it a bit easier for you though:

The tune is the best bang for the buck. The row boxes will add a very small bit more but it is noticeable. The secondary cat removal is more for sound (no real hp gain). The bigger mods like AMGonFire said are the headers or a supercharger if you are really adventurous. Also...post some pics!!!

+1. There aren't too many options for tuning, but as with any car tune is the first thing so when you do airboxes & filters it'll work better.

Headers are the next best power gain, but only good when the car is tuned for it. Something like 30-40 rwhp depending on the type. I opted for cat deletes as well. But can run close to $4k installed.

Weistec offers supercharger kits. Stages 1,2,3. They all run $12-15k plus install but have crazy power gains.

+1. Spend a few days reading everything on this site. Or if you don't want to spend the time and gain the knowledge do what most end up dong.

1. EC v5 tune with handheld
2. ROW air boxes and filters
3. Secondary cat delete

Those are by far most bang for $ and your car will sound really good. Headers are a gain but high $ for hp gain.

How much would you say is a reasonable price to pay for those three specific mods installed?

1. EC v5 tune with handheld
2. ROW air boxes and filters
3. Secondary cat delete

Hey guys, thank you so much for that. Great info for sure. I looked for hours over the weekend but I felt I had to ask because I have seen a few tuners say this and that about their stuff and a few forum members like and dislike certain stuff but could not come to a real good conclusion. I figured asking what you guys did will help me in what I am looking to achieve. To scare my passengers.

Gerry M. You asked what am I used to HP wise. Here was my last car. http://www.superchevy.com/features/0...-chevy-camaro/

Thanks again guys.

Hey guys, great info. I did look around the forums, but was unable to tell what works and what doesn't and what people have had the best success with and what was the most reliable.
Ok now I looked up the eurocharger, but keep seeing V3 tune, and not a V5 tune. Am I missing something with that? Also how does this thing work and is it California smog legal. How is the reliability of it?
The ROW boxes look interesting, but I again could not find anything on power gains. Does this work better with the V5 Tune? Also the second cat delete, what is involved there.
Sorry for all the questions, you guys have been great so far. Gerry M you asked what HP I am used to. I used to have a Procharged custom 67 Camaro. I tried to do a link, but it would not let me to the magazine article.
Anyways guys, thanks again. Also how much power is gained by all 3 things together?
I am seeing people run an LSD as well. Does the car not come with one? Again I am not that familiar with this car as of yet.

I have another quick question. The 255 rear tires are pretty small. What is the best or widest tire you can put there? I was looking at some Pirelli Trofeo R compound tires to stick back there since this is a weekend car.

Row airbox info - (you can search till you are blue and still find mixed reviews on it, but If you look at all the long time members who really modify their cars, they all have it.)

https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...dyno-test.html
http://weistec.com/all/c/c-63/2012-2...irbox-set.html

LSD info - Depends on what package your car has. The P30, came with the LSD but Mercedes took it out for the P31. It is really easy to get an aftermarket one like Wavetrac or Quaife.

Tire info (all depends on size/style/brand) - https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ht-wheels.html

Contact EC directly for the V5 tune. They have a mega sale right now for $699 with the handheld.

Also Mikegp3 is the guy for the secondary cat delete and you can get the ROW from Vivid racing.

All in all about $2k. should expect about 430-440 whp.

If you get the data card for the car the LSD is Option Code 471.

You guys are awesome. Thank you so much. I put in a call today to Eurocharger and will order next week. I was reading where a lot of p31 owners don't get as much of a gain as the standard (me) C63 owners do. They said it was because all of them are flashed to make around 535hp so the gain on the p31 is not as great. But to gain that much power on a NA car is unbelievable. When smog comes up, I can re-flash it to stock, then again go back to the newer setting once smog is done. Brilliant.
Ok now what is the "MYGenius" I saw there? Is that the same thing since I also just bought my wife a lightly used 2012 328i and would love to flash her car as well. Thanks again for letting me ask what probably seems like a well asked questions.
