Starting to mod my CBS(updated w/more pics)
I think the CBS is truly a thing of beauty as it is but I wanted to customize it a little to make it stand out even more. Everyone has their own style and opinions but I'd like to share with you fellow amg enthusiasts what I have done so far and will update the thread as more progress is made.
So far I have done
- 20" HRE p101 wheels in satin bronze
- Lowered car (ohlin suspension)
- aFe pro dry air filters (row air box)
- Changed hood vents to carbon fiber (Mode Carbon)
- Weistec ECU tune
- Weistec TCU and Valvebody upgrade
- Deleted 2nd cats and straight piped it
- Replaced dyed(tinted glass) glass rear window and side rear windows with clear glass and added a clear UV protective film all around
- Changed tires to Michelin pilot super sports 265/30r20 front 305/25r20 rear
- Wrapped chrome trunk strip, window sills, front grille around star in gloss black
- Wrapped inner door sills in matte carbon fiber
- Painted all emblems and door handle tops in satin bronze (wheel color)
- Changed steering wheel grey/silver panel to gloss carbon fiber
That is all so far but I have more plans coming up. More interior stuff and maybe down the road a Weistec stage 3. Not sure yet though as its already so quick.

More pics coming soon! Yea, cool car cover right!?
Thanks, I'm loving it too!
Thank you sir!
The ride quality is great, but felt the clubsport on my last 63 was better. More pics coming soon
Thanks Mort!
Thanks
Haha Meng! Yea I love the subtle mods! I'm going to pick up my car today, those pics were what my tuner sent me. I'll take some proper shots soon. Rainy today though
I'll upload a lot more pics and video clip of the sound with the 2nd delete.

Nice choice of mods. Can't actually think of anything I would have done differently.
I'm very curious to hear how your Ohlins compare with your previous Clubsport setup though...

Haha yea me too! Fits perfectly too!
Thanks, still some more mods to come too. Will keep the thread updated as they come.
Well, the club sport coil overs are simply amazing in my opinion and experience. I originally thought the Japanese black series models came with Öhlins instead of KW v.3 since they are basically the same, however my tuner has worked on another black series recently and it had the v.3. He is positive the previous owner had the Öhlins installed. Seems so weird to me since they aren't fully adjustable and very expensive, and the car had barely been driven (few thousand miles only when I bought her). They are basically the same as the v.3. Still great but the clubsport felt like I was glued to the road when I turned. Little hard to compare since the black series has a wider rear end and wider tires. The black series is just amazing around corners but my previous 63 felt even better. Now that I have played with my suspension a little and changed tires from crappy conti 5p to mpss I'll have to see. The weather sucks this week, rainy and cold roads, so I can't test it right now but will soon. Going to upload some more pics soon once the weather gets better too!
Thanks!
It's impressive how detailed everything is here, love it! Sounds like you have been here?
Thanks, you too! Sad to see yours go, hope you find a nice home for her!
I feel the same way, you never know! My gf thought I was crazy doing that but in a big parking lot someone that wants to see a rare car gets up close and belt buckle scratches it or car door dings etc. just protecting my baby haha!

These wheels are 10j front and 11j rear on 265/30r20 and 305/25r20 but would have been better if the set up was 8.5j 255/30r20 or 255/25r20 and rear 11.5 or 12j and 315/25r20 or possibly even 325/25r20
The et 30 front and 52 rear

W204 C63 Coupe, W166 ML350 BlueTEC, 928GT, C5 Z06 & IS300 race cars, EQE 4Matic+ on order
A 255 would be much too wide on an 8.5" rim... you'd want at least a 9" on the front to properly support a 255... maybe go up to 9.5" for a 265. A 10" rim is too wide for a 265 tire.
