Anyone using a Braille or lighter-than-oem battery?

I was looking at the "weight" thread and the weight savings from running a smaller, like a Braille B2015, battery are not negligible. I live in California so it never gets really cold here. What are the disadvantages of running such a smaller battery? I am trying to shave off some weight from the car and between the battery, spare tire, and going with 2-pc rotors the savings are very reasonable without really affecting the comfort of the car. I might also switch to a CF hood.

Braille B2015 = 425CCA. I don't even think that would turn the motor over lol.

IIRC 850CCA is OEM.

I use the deka 15lb battery (I believe the same as the one you are looking at asthey manufacture the Braille)
works fine I would suggest keeping a trickle charger on it if you don't drive it often and if you do a lot of short trips to use power using accessories sparingly otherwise it works perfect

Is it actually 425CCA? It fires the b¡tch over ok?

I remember when my battery was on its last legs. It was only putting out 600CCA and it would turn over slowly.

I am using a braille b3121 21lbs battery for track days. I used it for a couple of weeks this summer and with my short duration drives to work it would not keep up. Had to boost it after 2 weeks daily use. I leave it on a trickle charger and when i go to the drag strip i put it in for the day. No issues that way.

mine fires up almost instantly and have had it for over a year...only times I've had problems was with driving short distances to get fuel and then to a store or car wash while using accessories otherwise flawless

I have the Braille and it don't last too long. In my case maybe the two pumps for the ice tank demand too much, but I need to charge it during events.

That is sweet. Lithium gives you the best of both worlds. Lightweight and powerful.
